I would assume itās taught somewhat differently fromĀ āregularā engineering courses; many prereqs have this same sort of decomposition bent (like in statics you take a system and break it down to find certain forces/possible movements) but engineering in general is more focused on applying principles to design something new, while engineering analysis is likely more focused on taking an existing design and analyzing it, whether for optimization or otherwise. I.e. one creates a product and one analyzes that product. Both are necessary for the creation of a final product, though, as youāll need to constantly analyze designs, so I donāt think theyāre necessarily separate disciplines.
Iām not entirely sure on this though, so Iād highly suggest asking an engineering adviser at a college/university nearby, or any other similar mentors you might have! :) And if anyone else has a better answer please let me know.
