GLITCHED Drabble - Let Go

Author's Note: Decided I'll just write whatever comes to my mind lmao. Anyway, have this little drabble for a game called GLITCHED by Enhousestudios that has been rotting my brain for a while.

"You have to let me go."

His words were delivered in a whisper, a quiet plea and resolved demand in one.

You froze. The glitch was still screeching, screaming in your ears but you could hear his voice loud and clear.

Gus smiled at you. His brown eyes warm with trust and the Patcher's power coursing through his soul.

"You have to let us go," he continued even when words refused to leave you. "It's the only way and you know this."

"That's not--that can't be true," you stepped forward to try and grasp him by the shoulders to shake some sense into Gus.

However, he shook his head and stepped back, avoiding your hands.

"You're the only one who has the power to help me--other me--find out the truth of my world." His wings spread out as far as you could see behind him, "I might not be the one who can stop this glitch fully but you can."

Golden feathers drift down like gentle rain around them.

They stood apart from each other.

To celebrate the release of the A Day Before beta for KS backers, I’m posting all the old Bebo sprites that I had made for the Bebo design contest awhile ago hosted by @enhousestudios, but that I ultimately didn’t submit to the contest because I liked the others better and we had a limit of five.

If we’d been allowed to submit one more, I’d have submitted Bloombo.

In order: (Yeah, the names aren’t great.)

Top row: Bowbo, Bebo Kobebo, Albo, Bloombo, Duobo, Drumbo

Bottom row: Statbo, Angrybo, Threebo, Chimerabo, Coolbo, Rainbo.

Yes, Chimerabo’s design ultimately was changed to MissingBo. if you remember it.

Hey, having serious problems with the beta. Has anyone else playing this encountered this, and if so, were you guys were able to fix it somehow? It’s practically unplayable given that my characters’ stats are on the bottom of the screen...

Also, when I selected the Status option (the yellow one) up there, the game crashed.

Cloudbos tend to go with the flow -- or breeze as it may be. If you see clouds, the Cloudbo is likely not far behind!

Entry #4 for the Bebo Art Contest! (Guys, if you don’t remember, you can have up to five entries now!) As always, feel free to edit the sprite if need be if chosen. c:

While it isn't as punny as some of my previous entries, I really do like how the sprite of this one turned out, and the idea of a cloud Bebo... I just couldn't help it.

Their body looks like a literal cloud. Whitish-grey and puffy, if you stick your hand in one, it'd be like sticking your hand in water vapor. No one knows how they are even a thing. Or why they even are a thing. But hey, it's a Bebo for the Bebo farm.

They love, love, LOVE cloudy, muggy areas where it has a chance to rain -- with all the clouds there, it tries to blend into its surroundings. Of course, since they can't fly, one can be sure that it doesn't work all that well...

As for what kind of attacks this guy could potentially have...

Resounding Qwek -- Puts the power of thunder and lightning in your QWEK!

April Showers -- Lasts three turns, causes a small amount of damage each turn to all enemies. Cannot be used again while it's in effect.

Their essence, if they had one, would fluctuate between Drift and Insight, mostly Drift.

The Bearbo might look like a bear, but with a sweet nature and a cuddly appearance, every child will want a Bearbo to snuggle with at night.

Entry #3 for the Bebo Art Contest!

This one was actually the first entry that I thought of, but I spent some time trying to get the sprite to look right. I based it off of a panda bear, since everyone that knows me personally associates me with that animal. XD That, and I adore the panda markings. But the Bearbo can be based off of any bear!

The Bearbo is soft all around, with 'fur' even covering its legs and feet. It's a slow, lazy Bebo, and prefers to take it easy rather than rushing. While it can be found in cold climates, it prefers temperate ones more. It does love being cuddled itself, and will happily snuggle up if someone offers it.

It’s favorite food is honey. Unfortunately, it keeps chasing the Beebo around in hopes that it would produce it...

I imagine that it would produce status effects more than actual offense -- specifically, the Sleep status (or the equivalent of it), and can heal itself/allies by eating some food or giving food.

And here is the second Bebo! Let’s call it a Toofbebo for the time being.

The Toofbebo is shaped like a tooth! Dawww, isn’t it so cuu- oh god sharp teeth everywhere

So yes, the Toofbebo does in fact have several rows of very pointy teeth hidden inside its beak. Those chompers will do some serious damage, too.

It’s sort of a cryptid as well. In some rural areas, parents tell their children to “brush all your teeth, or the Bebo With A Thousand Teeth will get you.” In areas where the Bebo is a bit better known, especially urban ones, it’s been known to make a great guard dog or bouncer. Nobody’s going to try and pull one over on that mouth, this much is for certain.

Despite its intimidating maw, the Toofbebo is actually somewhat friendly, and will generally be pleasant to you as long as you’re pleasant back. Its alignment is Harmony.
