Baby, It's Cold Outside //I couldn't resist xD
"No really, it’s properly snowing!"
"It’s going to turn into slush."
"Enjolras I am going to paint your face green in your sleep, you absolute Grinch." Jehan turned away from where he’d been peering out the window, practically pressing his nose against the cold glass. There were little patches of fog where his breath had clouded the view of the street below. "Better yet, I’ll get R to do it," he added almost slyly. "Then at least it’d be a proper interpretation."
He had turned around just in time to see Enjolras’ scowl before he ducked his head back over his laptop, the artificial glow setting the angles of his face all wrong. Too washed-out. “You need a Christmas tree.”
"I need to finish writing the outline for this meeting," the blonde glanced up at him over the screen. "Which, if you’ll recall, you’re meant to be helping with."
"Courfeyrac would be better and you know it," Jehan brushed him off. "Combeferre even more so, but he’s trapped at the hospital dealing with little old ladies with a bit of a sniffe." The young student stretched his arms up over his head with a yawn. "I’m seeing you tomorrow for breakfast Enjolras, you can run it all by me then. If I don’t catch a train now, I’m not going to get home until midnight at least, and even then the snow might shut everything down."
"You’re not leaving."
Jehan took a minute to close his eyes and take a deep breath in. He was used to Enjolras getting wrapped up in his work like that. “Mon ami, I realize that we’re on a deadline, and I know things have been left later than you like it, but I really don’t want to stand in the cold for—”
"Jehan. You’re not going out in the snow. Just spend the night here, there’s blankets in the cupboard." Enjolras didn’t even look up from what he was pounding away at on his laptop keys.
The younger student blinked, momentarily blindsighted. Realizing he’d been too focused himself, to remember that at the core of it, at the end of everything…Enjolras loved his amis, and would never have let any of them trek out in weather like this if they didn’t have to.
"Ca va." Jehan found himself smiling fondly at his friend. "I’ll put coffee on."
