Marc gasps, taking in the sight.
"Holy shit," Valentino whispers next to him.
Marc nods, speechless. He takes a shaky step forward, then crouches down in front of an egg. It's relatively small, around three of his palms in length, with iridescent grey scales forming the eggshell. He traces the shell with a finger, and Valentino draws in a breath behind him. The egg is cold, and Marc wonders how long they've been waiting here.
