Enno Morricone is one of the greatest composers of our generation. This movie, "Once upon a time in the West" directed by Sergio Leon was in my opinion one of his greatest contributions. In the last year my partners and I have scored and written for 4 movies. We generally get the final edit last minute and have to rush to compose and find the right music for each scene. What is most incredible about this movie is they did it the opposite way. They shot the film after the score was written. Sergio and Enno worked closely on creating themes for all the main characters that reoccur in different manifestations when those characters appear. The original cut was over 3 hours long and had only 16 minutes of dialogue. It's superb in it's cinematography, movement, physical,(non dialogue) acting and set design. I highly recommend it on your next rainy afternoon.
