✈ - an eye-opening memory
A vibration through hull of Prometheus made Rune sit straight up. The deep red glow of the Nether coming from the porthole in his quarters had been replaced with clouds streaking past at an unbelievable pace. He was alarmed at first, thinking they had dropped back into real space too close to a planet as he darted over to watched the view.
A clatter from above alerted him to Larice dropping from the air vent and into his room. The only way to get around after lights out. “Whats going on?” She asked as she rubbed her eyes sleepily.
"Refuel run." Rune was still watching out the window as she slid her hand into his. "I guess it was time for more hydrogen to be picked up."
They stood and watched the red and purple clouds of the gas giant they were in race by until Promethius dove, in a much more graceful way than her size hinted at, into a band of deep blue clouds.. Lightning popped and boomed outside, making the transparent trillium of the porthole seem that much thinner. Though it was out of their view, scoops on the forward hull had opened and started taking in the air, filtering out hydrogen and other useful gasses as they went.
