anyways,,,
they’re the tsar of bulgaria which is in this m a j o r cultural revival because they’re finally getting out from under the big players on the world stage and bulgaria is like fucc !! art !! technology !! philosophy !! conquering shit !! (to clarify, zhenya is like fucc b/c they’re super studious but also kind of not in the way that they’re super fr*ckin hyperactive and impulsive which i’ll get into later) but this causes this rift between zhenya’s advisory court and them bc they’re like This Fucking Kid Man, who has no self restraint and is probably simultaneously the smartest and dumbest ruler Probably Ever but they’re not doinng Half Bad
and like let me stress just h o w impulsive my dumb kid is ??? like they almost pissed germany off to the point of almost war b/c they heard that this one town had really nice fruit ?? ok that’s a simplification b/c bulgaria was kind of in a teensy famine but still ?? i htae.
but they’re also ridiculously smart and whenever they talk academically everyone is like What Wow I Did Not Understand That So I Guess It’s True (which is really helpful when you’re a ruler but not so helpful when you can’t create any meaningful connections with people because you just Do Not understand how smart you are)
and that kinda leads into how they’re kind of a tactless mess (b/c they’d be considered on the autistic spectrum if that dealio exists in this canon) and are like, The Most emotionally guarded person because they’re really Fr*ckin scared of screwing things up (my poor kiddo) b/c of Shitty Ass Parental Connections and so whenever they do get thrown into emotional situations they’re basically the human form of keyboard smashing
but omg i haven’t talked about how Extra this hoe is. like i Love them but they need to Fuckin Chill. it kinda goes along with the impulsiveness but they’re literally so melodramatic?? like they’ll scream really loudly in the hallways of the royal castle bc they can’t find their favourite riding boots or smthn Dumb like that and the court will just be like Oh, There Goes The Csar Again (and whenever the foreign dignitaries visit they’re deeply concerned until the court convinces them that the csar is perfectly fine)
anyways i think you get the picture of zhenya, who is an actual Loser who has somehow managed not to destroy bulgaria. can’t wait to interact with everyone !!
