Silly question, but did you ever have a ranked list of the Pokemon films? I seem to recall a list you posted at some point with Lucario up top and Spell of the Unown right behind it, but I can't find it anywhere.
You may not have seen a list, just my reviews - the one for Spell of the Unown says in the conclusion that it’s my second favorite behind Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, so that’s where you could have gotten that information. I may have posted a list somewhere, but I don’t remember where or how I ranked them there.
Somebody else asked me for a list a while ago, though, and this is what I came up with for him (only the first twelve movies included, since while I’ve seen the thirteenth I don’t remember my feelings on it well enough):
1. Lucario and the Mystery of Mew2. Spell of the Unown3. Arceus and the Jewel of Life4. Jirachi Wish Maker5. Pokémon Heroes: Latios & Latias6. Giratina and the Sky Warrior7. Mewtwo Strikes Back8. Celebi: Voice of the Forest9. Destiny Deoxys10. The Power of One11. The Rise of Darkrai12. Pokémon Ranger and the Prince of the Sea
The Power of One actually used to be second-to-last and is still referenced as such in my ninth movie review, because I had a major hate-on for that movie for some reason, but then I rewatched it and redid my review and I don’t think it’s that bad anymore; definitely not great, but hardly so bad it’s worse than the movie that has the exact same plot except someone deliberately designed a world-saving mechanism to be as obtuse and difficult-to-activate as possible and also nothing really happens for the first fifty minutes. But then again maybe once I rewatch The Rise of Darkrai I’ll be like “What was I talking about, this movie wasn’t that bad”. Maybe.
The ninth movie’s definitely the worst, though.
Fifth to ninth place here are pretty arbitrary; I’m not very good at ranking things, and usually out of a set I have some favorites and some least favorites and everything in between is a vague muddle where basically any ordering could make sense depending on my current mood (I’m already like “Whaat, past self, did you really put the eleventh movie ahead of the first?” at this list).
I hear the Keldeo movie is good. I really need to get around to catching up on the movies (and my reviews).
