For few months i have been working on concept of a fan Hollow Knight Kingdom called Eonbloom. All this started from the idea of how in Hallownest lifeblood was taboo but then I thought “what if there was kingdom that embraced lifeblood?”. So over few posts i will be posting all the concepts i made and probably even explaining some stuff.

My first concepts still haven’t a finalized Main Character design, so ill also post his current design and trivia.

His name is Blossom! He is a lifeblooded (or lifebloodborn) bug. And at the start of the “plot” he will pop out of the cacoon in Withering Garden. Basically the plot starts with main character birthing. Except he is no ordinary bug. And i wanted to explore the details of his origins later in my concepts.

Starting to explore Capital subareas. Declining Districts are basically Choral Chambers but for Capital, biggest subarea that connects all other subareas pf the city. Those are supposed to be generic streets of lower Capital. Where middle class works and lives.

Oh, and also i had this rough sketch of whole Capital. Its might be changed if i ever draw a more rendered art of it but here it is nonetheless

I always liked the design of Gatekeeper but some people said that he is too similar to Last Judge. And i mean, there is something kinda, but also he is a complete opposite of the Last Judge, since he is certainly not righteous, and frankly afraid for his life more than the bugs he stops in front of the gates.

It took me so long to draw this frame of Capital. Since i have a lot of troubles when it comes to drawing architecture, and certainly even more when its fantasy architecture. But i think it turned out well.

Also… until now i was just posting periodically all my already existing art, so the next batch of Eonbloom stuff from now on will be posted less frequently. So at least i can share some of my sketches for the next part.

^ this is sketch of a Capital’s equivalent to sentries from City of Tears. These city guards aren’t actually bugs, but an artificial constructs created by Lectorium to serve Capital. These creatures are powered by lifeblood and really show the technological advancements of the Eonblooms scholars. Why making guards as robots essentially? As i explained in one of the previous posts, most bugs of Eonbloom are weak physically, so the Lectorium designed guards that won’t fail because of their shell and limbs being too weak and sick.

And lastly, this is a sketch of a certain bug that maybe will me important in future posts 👀

Just a fun fact, Withering Garden is basically a sub area for the Mistimire. Like weavenests in Silksong were.

When i first drew these concepts i had a lot of troubles designing tribal bugs of Sizzling Rocks but after some time i came up with their general design so ill include it here!

They are kinda based of trilobites. I imagined their lore as primitive bugs that always rejected any new technologies and advancements of the rest of the Eonbloom. They also never used lifeblood, and had a tradition of boiling alive themselves to become more resilient.

These trilobites are kinda an exception in the Eonbloom. Since the rest of the Kingdom were and still is suffering from all the years their lands were tormented by wild sicknesses, that left their shells weak, their limbs often rotting away. And only after learning about lifeblood these bugs could kind of live more normal. But these trilobites always lived in a harsh environment, pushed themselves to their limits so they get sick so rarely they are basically immune.

Someone who wanted to cure his people, and then who was driven by desperation and addiction to the point of madness, where he believed he is the only one who can save everyone, who must become new Higher Being of Lifeblood through metamorphosis

Kinda random sketch. But its about the ABSORB skill of Blossom and his weapon. In the first concepts i called it syringe-nail, but from that point i decided to change it a bit to a Hollow Knight equivalent of a dagger basically with ability to extract liquids.

Also the Absorb is basically Eonbloom’s Focus or Binding from other Main Characters, their way of channeling soul, or, well, in this case lifeblood. Absorb would be used in learning spells, abilities, maybe even to take down some bosses for certain lore reasons.
