Pairing: Andy Barber x reader

Warnings: One mention of miscarriage, but very fluffy fic 💙

A/N: In this setting Andy never married Laurie - the reader is the only wife Andy has / had & also Tommy (OC) is the only child Andy has 😊

You watched your husband worryingly stare at his reflection. He was staring at his barely there wrinkles and frowned. You took a few steps forward, getting into his field of vision and you saw his expression change.

"Is the baby sleeping?" Andy asked as he looked at you. He picked up your toothbrush and put toothpaste on it, handing it over to you.

"Soundly." You said before you both started brushing your teeth. You kept stealing glances at him and he was switching his focus between him and you in the reflection of the mirror.

"What?" He asked as he spat the residue and washed it down the drain. You mumbled something incoherently as you were still brushing your teeth. He laughed and waited patiently for you to finish.

"Are you worried?" You asked as you turned to him, one hand leaning on the sink.

"About what?"

"About your age."

He quickly faked a laugh, wrapping you in his arms and kissing the top of your head.

"Don't be silly. You're the one always worried about wrinkles, even though I can't see them and even when you'll be old and grey I'll still think you're the most beautiful woman on Earth." Andy smiled down at you and walked back to the bedroom, leaving you alone in the small adjacent bathroom.

While that was true, you've been obsessed with having great skin and as little to no wrinkles for years now, you were now worried that your obsession latched on to Andy. You have seen him paying closer attention to the photos and observing his skin in depth in the mirrors. You hated the idea that he would be self-conscious about getting older. He was aging like fine wine in your opinion and the idea that he thought otherwise was making you sad and angry - sangry?

As you finished your nightly routine in the bathroom and changed to your PJs, you joined your husband in bed. He was reading his book and while that was your intention in the beginning - since having the baby you had so little time to read anything unrelated to kids - you opted for your phone. You opened the gallery where all your favourite photos were stored. Most of them featured Andy and your child, Tommy.

After glancing at him, you quickly pulled his book from his hands, earning a loud "Hey!" from the other occupant of the bed. You showed him your tongue.

"Tell me what's been bothering you."

"Nothing."

"You're not getting this book back until you tell me." You raised your eyebrow at him. Andy sighed.

"Look, I know it's silly, but I just feel like I'm getting noticeably older...I realised a couple of days ago, after the pictures from Tommy's 1st birthday arrived, that I look significantly older than you." He explained and stared at his hands. You grabbed his chin, making him look at you.

"Listen to me, Andy Barber, you look damn fine. If you didn't, I wouldn't have married you." You smiled wildly, but didn't receive any response from him. Which only meant he was really worried. You passed him your phone and he went through the pictures.

"You know my photography style - there's a story behind each favourite picture of mine. Here was when the pigeon pooped on your head in Venice, I didn't care that you were 25 and without wrinkles. This one is from our time in Korea, where we met that artist in the gallery and sat down with him for 4 hours, I never noticed that you had wrinkles. This one is from Tommy's birth and I didn't notice the smile lines. Do you understand what I'm trying to tell you?" You snuggled into him.

"I know." Any whispered and leaned his head on yours.

"No one notices our wrinkles, a picture is just a picture - sometimes they're good and sometimes they're bad. What matters is the freeze frame of the moment. And besides, I love your wrinkles, I love the smile lines," you traced your fingers over them, "they show how many times I made you laugh. And the crow's feet too." You touched the corners of his eyes. Andy stared at you. "And the worry lines...I know it's from work and the miscarriage we had." Andy looked away from you, his frown lines deepened. "And this thing that I hate but I love, that shows how many times you were worried about me and my clumsiness, especially during the pregnancy. And the deepness of your anger when I piss you off." You gave a mischievous smile as Andy looked at you again.

"Everything on this handsome face of yours, tells our story, Andy. And I love it and you. With each new wrinkle that forms on your, or my, face means another experience that we went through - good or bad." You kissed his smile lines, his eye and forehead until Andy grabbed your face and kissed you lovingly.

"I love you too." He breathed in your lips as you separated.
