Background Update!
Wondering what was happening in the background of the prologue? In Embers of the Forest, there will be quite a lot of action happening outside of the perspective cats' understanding and sight! Some of this will feature in one-shots, but we also want to touch on some of these on our Tumblr!
As of the prologue, ThunderClan had been suffering from greencough throughout leaffall and leafbare. The Clan hoped that newleaf Would bring the end of it, but still some of the cats had been coughing, and catmint was in short supply. So far, leafbare had already claimed the lives of Swiftbreeze, Featherwhisker, Poppydawn, and Leopardfoot. The morning of the first day of the prologue, RiverClan and ThunderClan had a battle over sunningrocks. The battle included Tigerclaw, Thistleclaw, Mousefur, and Bluestar from ThunderClan, and Grasswhisker, Crookedstar, Stonefur, and Mistyfoot from RiverClan. Grasswhisker and Thistleclaw died in the battle, and Mousefur was badly injured. Dappletail's kits in the medicine den, Cricketkit and Featherkit, were also claimed by greencough not long after, along with Brindleface's youngest kit, Rabbitkit.
some chapters are so long. It may not all reach the final cut
