Shy's dad Ephraim is a Rasta. He was drawn to Henley's carefree nature and young looks, learning a little bit about her 'Spiritual' heritage, incorrectly assuming she was one of the chosen ones with Life Everliving from his religion. However, Henley is highly materialistic and Ephraim only figured this out after their daughter was born, blind to it until he just couldn't ignore the disregard of his faith. He divorced her soon after.
