I realized that if it weren't for the suitors, neither Odysseus nor Telemachus would know who they were, so I thought of an au in which they weren't introduced, all the suitors were killed and only one remains. Odysseus is looking at Telemachus dressed like an elegant prince thinking he's just another one of Penelope's arrogant suitors, Telemachus is looking at Odysseus with torn clothes looking like a barbarian thinking he's just another one of his mother's brute suitors, they start to fight, with all the strength and will they have, they're fighting for their lives, they're fighting for Penelope.

y'know it really is beautiful to see all the different ways people interpret your favorite character. what aspects they choose to highlight, how they interpret the same source you all saw in so many different ways. that's beautiful.
