I wanted to draw Odysseus as this 40+ year old man who most likely didn't care about his appearance for the past 10+ years cuz i mean would you care about anything in his shoes?

Anywho this is my hairy, buff, sweaty, smelly old man Odysseus with severe PTSD😼

i’ve seen a few people portray eurylochus as this like, cold hearted selfish stone faced dude. and i do not get that at all

YES, BUT athena is ALSO a foil to odysseus!! does that mean she doesn’t care about people?? no!!! she cares for telemachus, penelope, and especially odysseus. foils don’t always equal villains guys

here’s my main point, however: eurylochus is the representative of the crew. i would LOVE to see more people portray a closer relationship between eury and the crew.

let him form more brotherships with people other than ody!!! let him cry and be sad, maybe even breaking down when they die!!!! let him save them during battle!!! just, anything!! please i want some fluffy eurylochus food

people aren’t scared to write ody being absolutely distraught over polites's death…it’s time to give eury a turn. we won’t take the suffering from him

why does this matter so much to me? well it all has to do with the dynamic between him and ody. it just brings so much more perspective and nuance into it. humanizes eurylochus a little. people have such little understanding and perspective for him. the musical isn’t going to give us any more, so why not make some of our own, right??

odysseus’s priorities lie in his family. eurylochus’s priorities lie in the crew, his brothers.

BESIDESSSS!!! ODY IS PART OF THE CREW!! HES THE CAPTAIN FOR CHRISTS SAKE!! HE IS ONE OF EURYLOCHUS’S BIGGEST PRIORITIES!! IT DOESNT MAKE SENSE FOR EURYLOCHUS TO DISOBEY HIM AND MUTINY UNLESS ODY WENT AGAINST ONE OF HIS CORE BELIEFS—KEEPING THE CREW SAFE!!! JUST LIKE ODY IS WILLING TO BE MORE RUTHLESS FOR HIS FAMILY!! SEE HOW IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW???? AHSJSJJAKSJ
