Queen Elizabeth II became Patron of the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity in 1952 and held this position until her death.
Diana, Princess of Wales became Patron of the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation trust and President of the Hospital in 1989. She remained in this role until her death, making it one of the few positions she kept after her departure from the royal family.
The Prince of Wales became President of the hospital in 2007. He then became Joint Patron of the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust in 2025.
The Princess of Wales joined her husband as Joint Patron of the Royal Marsden in 2025 after receiving cancer treatment there.
