30 Days of Character Development Day 9
I have chosen three characters whom need to be worked on or expanded further.
Yarhozalikon Queranel’r: I use this character’s shortened name as my online alias, created in 2002 and main character of a manga project on hiatus. Started as a fan character for YGO!
Ryusaki (right): From the same series, he quite possibly needs a name change and a less 2-D personality.
Izzina Lazolt: Fantroll for a roleplay SBURB-like homestuck project. My newest character.
9.) Who does your character trust?
Yarho.
Kei, her best friend from childhood. Imiess, an ally she gains during her journey. She leans on her alot when she starts on her own even though Imiess seems adverse to her company at first. Shizu and Kain of course since they took her in, they are essentially parents to her. Takan, for a time, she trusts as a sort of senior or mentor. Lastly she trusts Ferris, her first boyfriend.
Ryusaki
Takan, because she has been with him for a very long time. Their relationship is similar to that of an old married couple and their roles are constantly exchanged in that. Khrys is another person that he trusts... As to why he would trust a virtual stranger he has met a handful of times... That's a secret for now. (it's a major spoiler haha)
Izzina
She basically trusts everyone at first. In this sense she is quite naive, but she is starting to develop some skepticism. I will name those she trusts MOST: Eponea is her best friend so she trusts her greatly. She was one of the only people who reached out to help her when she went crazy. Pyrrha her ex-matesprit is another troll she trusts greatly even though they have split. Pathos, even though he had stolen from her on at least 2 occasions she would trust him with her life. Her red feelings for him contribute to her trust for him too. Sineth, while she considers him a major jerk she does trust him, she has had a blackcrush on him for some time. She doesn't think he is very reliable though. And manatee dad of course, now she is beginning to appreciate him more for what he has done in the days leading up to his death.
i decided to copy CA and toss in my own character design sheet out here boop
i apologise for being such a copy cat """OTL

(This is headcanon theme for when the Sagitant starts to face down the Designer. The theme is a badly edited, ripped music off of the Diablo II: Lord of Destruction Opening Cinematic Suite.)
Ancestor: The Sagitant Agitator
Eponea's ancestor was known as the Sagitant Agitator. She was a paragon of the Archtillery, the lesserblood's division of long-range troops and seen by the higherbloods as purely cannon fodder. They operate by powering various crude ranged weapons with their psionics.
During the Sentinel's reign, she was urged to rally her fellow peasantbloods against the oppression and support his movement for peace and abolishing the violence and discrimination that permeated Troll culture. However, upon his declaration to eliminate the Limebloods, the Sagitant was surprised by this drastic change into the Lamenter. Riddled with uncertainty by the Lamenter's actions, the Sagitant was thrown into a state of discord no longer sure of her motivations in the struggle.
[still being worked out] Soon after the rise of the Crusader's own movement, she militarised her previously peaceful movement to help against their insurrection and losing skirmish with the Philharmassacres discovered through them the connection to the Designer and her puppeteering machinations of the Lamenter and vows to eliminate her out of obligation to his previous peaceful ambitions. Succeeds but -- [TBC until NZ comes back on for further collab]
An unexpected abscence.
You try and contact Izzina but it seems she refuses to respond. Any intent of exploring your new area is forgotten as you pace around, your hand frustratedly combing through your already tousled braid. She has never referred to her blood caste before. She has never spoken so stiffly, so formally and never has she ever attacked you for your own lowly status. You felt hopeless, your hands tied. A part of you could never argue the hemospectrum, it just naturally came to you to fall in line like the rest of the named ‘rustblood’. In aggravation, you start telekinetically assaulting the ground, shooting your crossbows haphazardly, a growl of desperation emitting from your bared teeth. Why did this have to be so difficult?
A few bolts later, you calm down staring numbly at the cracked ground. Light spilled out as the cracks revealed more hidden circuitry, metal cages creaking broken at your sudden battering, illuminating your scrunched up face. What could you do? Izzina was in her land, and you were in yours. As far as you knew, it could take forever to get to her, and even longer to figure out how. It was presumptuous of you to think so, but she needed you. Glancing over your shoulder, you spot your lusus, not too far behind, looking at you with concern. She had no comforting words, just an expression of sadness and worry. Turning back to Izzina’s trollian you try again: -- apatheticCaricature [AC] began trolling slumberingSorceress [SS] at 22:11 -- AC: -D> ;zz;na. ; don’t know where you are, and ; honestly don’t know how ;’m go;ng to get to you AC: -D> but ; swear ;’ll try and be there for you AC: -D> you may not adm;t as much but you need someone AC: -D> and everyone may be too preoccup;ed w;th the;r own ;ssues AC: -D> but ; swear to you ;’ll try. you don’t need to go th;s alone. -- apatheticCaricature [AC] gave up trolling slumberingSorceress [SS] at 22:12 -- Closing your Holoring for now, you turn back to your land, wondering where to start. Exclaiming out loud, for no other reason than to feel your voice affirm your determination (what little you can offer anyway), you say, “How the fuck am I supposed to get to her land?”
“Through the gates.”
Startled, you turn to look at your lusus. Her horn glowed, sensing your resolve. “You will have to progress quickly through your land if you intend to help your friend.”
“But it seems the gates just drop us in random places.”
Your lusus nodded her helmed head. Her hooves clopped towards you, a small smile on her lips.
“That one did.” She cocked her head to the gate above you. “And there are several more gates for you to explore.
Furrowing your brows, you asked in turn, “Wait… so the other gates… could take me to other lands?”
She smiled, but made no other gesture. You bite your lip as you turn to the horizon. It would take a long time and a lot of effort to find them, and even longer to find the right one. You’d be going blind.
Not as blind as Izzina is going right now, you think, worried about what bedlam she’s causing in her highblood rage. You glance back at your Trollian again: seems Sineth is far too busy and Trivxi not responding either. You don’t blame Izzina for losing her shit, she had no one to talk to. Even you were starting to lose your patience with your friends for not replying as promptly as you’d like.
Izzina was there when you found your lusus’ body. It was only fair you returned the favour, even though at least you prototyped yours. You cast a thankful glance at your revived lusus before turning back to your musing.
Interrupting your thoughts, you hear the sound of enemies closing in. Your head snaps back up before seeing a large clump of them amassing at the base of the unnaturally obsidian cliff you are on. The glowing circuitry lit their monstrous facades, some of their number obscured by the occasional cage that jut out awkwardly from the terrain. You start to prepare your weapon, glowing as your psionics start to intensify when you identify a newer enemy. You’ve seen one or two in Sineth’s land, but they are larger and much more intimidating – and in greater numbers. It seems they’re starting to strategise against you instead of the mindless assault they had on you in your hive. You decide to hit first, jumping down the cliff as you so softened your landing with your telekinetics. Charging at them at the highest speed you could muster you unleashed bolt hell on them, projectiles making quick work of the smaller enemies. Your echeladder dings, as you have reached new heights in your echeladder as ‘Untamed Equine’. You receive a total of 411 boondollars and a few other stuff you don’t care to mention as you plow through the smaller ones. It seems to have improved your cognitive stamina (or maybe you just really needed that rest from earlier) as you handle this particular attack with significant ease.
You break through their ranks easily enough, now facing the larger ones as they crowd around you their great hands swinging at you. You try and dodge only to duck and roll into one of their punches. You could feel your spine crack at the sudden bend, (though hopefully not a permanent one) as you fly off back into the cliff face. You hit the ground with a thud, a sharp agonizing pain spreading through your back from the hit. You prop yourself onto your elbows only to be smashed back down again by a giant foot. Oh no,you’re not taking this lying down.
Timely enough your psionic blast knocks the offending ogre off its balance as it wobbles to counter the push. You take advantage of this time to get back up on your feet and dashing between its unsure footing. Other ogres start to swarm on you as you sense your lusus trying to assist with its own telekinetic attacks. You decide that you are far too easily overwhelmed by these new enemies and abscond as far as you could. Your lusus calls out to you, tells you to run and she’ll distract them as she hurtles into the fray. You wonder if lusus-sprites can die, but sprint off anyway, dodging the imps that try to stop you.
You finally reach an area void of any of the imps or ogres, a small opening that lead into what seemed to be a cavern system. While a lot of your land struck you as rather geometric and, well, obviously mechanical, a lot of this newly discovered area seemed organic. There was sparse circuitry found, and odd carvings into the cave wall of various… amphibians? You keep your guard up as you explore. Deciding to solicit some assistance from your server, you extend your hand up to toggle your Holoring. “Oh shit.” You seem to have lost your most precious and only way to communicate with your teammates. It must’ve been when you got knocked on your ass by that fucking ogre. Fucking ogres. Your snarled maw elicits an unpleasant stream of curses, kicking at the stray broken obsidian rocks. Naturally you should have had alchemized more computing devices to keep on your person, at least six. But you were too lazy and half-assed that and now you’re left stranded, once again exhausted and incommunicado. Plus your phone ran out of battery.
For good measure you hit your head against the cave wall to at least leave a physical reminder of this stupid ass situation you’ve put yourself in. The hits reverberate through the hollow and unbeknownst to you curious reptilian eyes appear from further in as they search the source of the strange thumping sound.
Sitting there, you are plagued with only one question: Now what? Your head starts to sting a little from your repetitively hitting the wall. Exhaustion is starting to shroud your body as you relax against the cavern face. Eventually, you start to sleep again.
