The angst that came with the break up was delicious. The content creators in the fandom deserve everything good. As much as a slow burn would have been nice, I am honestly happy with them back together in their home. The scenes with them back together were amazing and I just want more. More conversation, more domesticity and more them.

I can't speak for all content creators in the fandom but personally I loved having all that angst to work with. But on the other hand, I completely agree. I was looking forward to a slow burn slow build up back to being them, but the way they did it just fit so well with the episode. And I just love to see it, really.

I will say to anyone looking for more of the slow burn that I almost certain you'll be able to find it in fics that will undoubtedly show up in the next few days. I know I am planning on at least fleshing out the time jump in some of my fics and I know I am not alone. But that's the wonderful thing about fandom: we can enjoy the beautiful, well crafted hopeful story they gave us and then turn around and fill in all the cracks with whatever we want. We really do get to have it all, thanks to the insanely talented writers in this fandom 🥰

Can I just say that this makes a lot of sense to how TK is and if we ever get a Tk begins type of episode I would be curious to see it and see how his relationship with his parents maybe other relationships he pushed himself into that wasn’t good for him that led to the one who he proposed to then Carlos and maybe how he got into drugs in the first place. Like I’m just curious. And this makes sense for Carlos too - not TK’s family drama but his own. I just want to hug him 🥺

Yeah like they seem like they have made no progress since they were married, so I would guess they were very much the same, and that’s just toxic for a child. Like I know he’s grown now, but I would guess he still has an on-edge feeling when they fight and use some of those old behaviors because that kind of thing doesn’t just go away! TK also tried to talk to them when he needed support and that need was not at all fulfilled and twisted to be about them instead of him, which just sucks!

And yeah, I can see TK entering relationships to have someone actually pay attention to him and wanting a connection that he didn’t necessarily get with his parents all the time. He seems to fall quickly and that can definitely be a sign of like anxiety about relationships and worrying about being abandoned/ ignored and whatnot. Like being called TJ was kind of funny, but also I can see how it might be triggering and make TK feel like he was unimportant, and I’m so proud of him for expressing some of his idea and allowing Carlos to communicate his side.

Also, I loved the insight into Carlos because I like his coming out story and I can see how it would influence him so much because that’s so hard. Like his parents are doing their best to love him, but that silence would be painful and indeed make him feel unsafe. I’m glad that TK showed Carlos support because that was so important for me to see. They managed to redeem that plot for me. Like I definitely get Carlos’ story, and I think it shows a fresh perspective of coming out that I haven’t really seen in any shows that I’ve watched, so that was cool. Plus, any Carlos moment is to die for, and I love seeing more of him.

hi so when I saw owen drop to his knees outside the bus I thought he was dying. and I didn't even question it I was just like "damn what a scene, life and birth and death." no other thoughts, head was very empty. I just needed to get this off my chest thanks

I can tell you that you weren't alone in that, Anon. I had a friend over at my place watching the episode with me and she thought he was having a heart attack. Which honestly, given everything, is a valid assumption.

I'm glad he didn't because it would have really ruined the tone (and the tone is what is going to get me through the next day on no sleep) and because I do actually enjoy his character, for the most part. But It would have been a hell of a narrative choice.

I have a really dumb question…I’ve been on vacation and haven’t had service to watch last nights episode yet. Does Paul, Judd, the team know about TK yet?

The best I can tell no - they definitely haven't mentioned it on screen (trust me, I was waiting for it. As much as I love tarlos the firefam is the reason I watch the show). I was hoping that wouldn't be an offscreen thing but it's seeming likely. Chances are we'll just come into episode 4 and they'll all know. Which will be fine because we'll still get the family content we want, but I would have liked to seen it. The fact that they were all presumably in the same hospital and didn't know though? Killing me.

I thought I was done thinking about this but apparently now lmao. Anyway one of the reasons I hate the kitchen scene when Owen and Gwyn make TK’s problem into their own (besides everything) is that their situations are nothing alike. Like. Owen and Gwyn are whatever they are and I think it’s fair enough that she might want clarity about that given the circumstances which shall not be named. But TK and Carlos are explicitly a committed, months long relationship who clearly love each other and they’re not just ‘having fun’, as Owen so delicately put it. They HAVE put labels on it and it’s totally unfair for TK’s words to be twisted and made to fit his parents’ agenda. (Also side note i despised when Owen asked TK if he was seeing anybody else. Did the man forget TK got cheated on in his last relationship)

Lol we will never be done thinking about this I think because there’s literally so much to unpack that my tiny brain cannot handle ever! And yeah, you’re right; they’re so focused on their own issue that is not even circumstantially like TK’s! They didn’t even take long to get off track and make it about them. Like poor TK. good thing he has learned better listening skills and was actually listening to Carlos. And it definitely sounds like TK has been learning in therapy just by the way he approached the conversation with Carlos, which shows a difference between TK and his parents. As for the question about seeing someone else, seeing someone else doesn’t necessarily mean cheating, but Owen should know that T.K.’s relationship is committed and monogamous if he listen at all to his son. And again, it was always about Owen trying to make a point to Gwyn more than about TK. UGHHH I’ve gotten off track, but it is frustrating.

What did Marjan do with the tattoo at the end? I love Grace smartness. I liked how the writers didn't make her angry at Judd to create drama. I really hope to know what's the point of the pregnancy storyline killing Gwen(hope not) or her losing the bady broke off with owen back to NY(the actress said she is in S2 but she is a guest)?

She made the tattoo artists cover up the spelling error and then they’ll go back and get the lettering redone. Also, I am so upset at those tattoo artists. Their behavior was super unethical and they knew that what they were doing was wrong, and they laughed at poor Mateo’s expense. I also like that they didn’t have a big Judd/ Grace blow up and just had a resigned and sad moment between them. Yeah, I have no idea what they’re thinking with that storyline and I’m not sure I’ll ever have answers about what they are doing!

You know what Owen really needs to stop telling his personal business to people he may be close to but doesn’t concern them at all before he tells TK. I know he’s all giddy but he did the same shit last season with his cancer he didn’t even tell his own son first. And I know he was worried how TK would take it but the only think TK was upset about when he did eventually find out was that Owen kept it from him. He told Judd before TK. And now he told Tommy before TK about other personal matters. It’s fine if other people know his business if he wants them to know it but why are they the first to know before his own son??? I hate it so much it’s like he never stops to think how so much of his actions affect TK not just this. I know he loves TK but he’s so selfish and only stops to care about TK’s opinion after the fact- after TK’s already pissed off and angry at him or going through his own stuff. I bet he has never even thought about how being most likely emotionally absent has affected TK his whole life. Not blaming Owen for being a survivor in 9/11 because that’s traumatic but the fact that Owen acts like he’s fine and that he hasn’t dumped his baggage and affected TK is just unreal/ridiculous

He’s that stranger that randomly sits next to you on a bench and starts unloading his whole life story. Like he did that both with Tommy and Judd when he barely knew them. I do get that it can be easier to tell certain things to people who you don’t know, but he should have thought that through a bit more and it would have been good to consider the consequences. Also, in this case, I think it was disrespectful to Gwyn to talk about it when they hadn’t even made a decision. I’m guessing she didn’t want people to be told. A lot of people don’t like to tell other people until the second trimester (and obviously close relatives could be an exception like TK), and especially with the increased risks, it just doesn’t feel right for Owen to be blurting it out. I do like how good of a listener that Tommy was, but Owen has issues with talking about what he needs to talk about with the people he should be talking about it with. Even in the crossover, he was unloading on Hen. Obviously, the circumstances made him more talkative, but Gwyn was trying to get him not to bottle his feelings up, and he wouldn’t talk to her. Or Owen talked about his relationship with TK and then he doesn’t actually talk to TK about that ever. He just needs therapy and to learn to be open to the people he values most.
