Frosted horses’s manes... not going to lie, my favorite of all favorites are horses in the snow, with hoar frost painting their manes, tails and whiskers. Running through the pasture to capture these moments when it’s barely above zero are worth it to me. And my new @arenushealth socks and fingerless gloves make a huge difference in my ability to stay warm. I’ve been missing them my whole life. Not anymore. Horses are so cool y’all!!!! Did you know that they’ll figure out what we want? Humans aren’t always the most consistent creatures, and horses love consistency. So do dogs and toddlers! Well, really, all species appreciate consistency. So if we focus on doing our best to communicate what we want to the horse, they’ll fill in the lines for us. Isn’t that incredible? I’m constantly amazed by them. It doesn’t matter what cue you choose to teach your horse something, so long as you use it with relative consistency— just do your best. We've battled soreness, anxiety (mine) and struggled to clock this year. It wasn't until I COMPLETELY let go of all my fears (fear of falls, fear of failure, fear of the unknown) that we started to act as a team. As long as there is doubt in me, my horse can't believe in me either. The same is true for those around us. If we don't believe in ourselves, we can't expect anyone else to do it for us.
