How do you become a Heartfelt apprentice? Since our post last week, about our apprentice students backing Hunters Warrior Flyer, under our supervision, we have had alot of queries about how to become an apprentice. Initially we were answering individually, but with the number of queries we thought it would be worth doing a post. The prerequisite for the apprenticeship program is the completion of Heartfelt Horsemanships Natural Horse Management Certification course. This course is completed through correspondence. I realise people are often sceptical of correspondence based courses for something as practical as horsemanship, but we have put tremendous effort in to making the course interactive. The detailed course books are supported by videos to give visual understanding of the topics covered. We are aware everyone faces different challenges because everyone and every horse is different. To address this we include 4 hours of free video coaching per module to address any challenges that may arise. Assessment for the practical aspect of this course is done through video submission. The theory aspect is assessed through written assignment. Once the Natural Horse Management certification is completed with an 85% assessment, students are eligible for the 3 month apprenticeship program. Right now this can only be done at our premises in Howick, KZN.
