no but I love the concept of Mel King as ER Barbie (even beyond the Kingdon implications) because Barbie is confident, competent, attractive, and popular - all the things society tries to deny/undermine in women with autism. but Mel as a character already is and can be more of all these things! Mel King is attractive; Mel King knows what she's capable of and regularly exceeds expectations; Mel King is a delightful person that anyone should be happy to count as a friend. Mel King IS ER Doctor Barbie. and although not perfect with their messaging, Barbie is supposed to represent *all* kinds of women being their best selves. i am living for a more confident, self-assured, assertive, and socially-supported Mel King in S3, and not because she puts on a mask to conform but because she more fully embraces herself without shame.
Barbie always has a good day
Ken only has a good day if Barbie looks at him
I saw a post about Mel walking into the er with a high pony tail and everyone being like 👀… okay ER Barbie! I thought I saved it but now I can’t find it and I want to do a little comic of it, please send it to me if you know what I’m talking about.
