recording this album had been a process and a half. well, the first part did go well, the second however... reading the lyrics of 'girls never die' for the first time felt like milan needed to give a good talk to whoever came up with these lyrics. seeing her past year of quiet (okay, almost quiet) laid down on the piece of paper made her go silent immediately. even after all these months, she usually still tries to keep up appearances around her member, but not on that day. on that day, she had gone entirely silent, nibbling on her lower lip absent-mindedly while reading and rereading the song's lyrics.
her time in the booth also went sideways when recording that one song. what should've taken her a maximum 1 hour ended up taking two sessions and a total of several hours to record this one song.
to make things even harder on her, this title was their first darker concept. cool, mysterious and dark has never been milan's forte. as much as she likes fabula, she's never managed to match any of their concepts.

standing offstage waiting for nova's call to come on their first music show of this promotion cycle, milan's expression is not much different from when they first heard the song. microphone held near her mouth while nibbling on her lower lip again, she stares in the distance at nothing in particular yet, there's no tear in her eyes this time around, there's no cloud of anxiety, no desire to run away. her aura is different, even the way she stands is different. her long straight black hair contrasts with her usually playful hairstyles. unbeknownst to the milan who's standing on hold currently, november 10, 2024 milan would become legendary among her fans and even she would have to admit that she nailed it.
is it because she lacked experience that she previously couldn't pull such concepts? or maybe it's because she understands 'girls never die' on a deeper level than other songs? there's no need for her to try to emote the despair and pain of the first half of the song; she's been through it, she's still dealing with it. and the hope of the second half... the hope of the second half had been harder to find, but by their first inkigayo stage, she had found it. or maybe they had practiced the song so many times that it brainwashed her.
