This is my intro comic entry for the War for Rayuba - a comic competition/collaboration which pits original characters against one another in combat. This character is the poster child for the Kulper species in the Eratoh4e tabletop game. More comics featuring Tamro will be coming soonish, depending on what kind of battle I end up participating in in the war! Character portraits for a yet-untitled Twine game.

Currently working on a Twine game (kind of like a choose-your-own-adventure thing) where the reader is a detective investigating the disappearance of a sensor technician on a remote aether-mining platform in the cyberpunk future of a planet called Eratoh.

Its somewhere between a choose-your-own-adventure and a text-based RPG. It has a character creator where you can choose to play as a variety of species, select backgrounds, define your gender as you choose, etc. The player’s goal is to find what happened to cause the disappearance of a sensor technician named Kilkarta. The first release is nearing completion, and will cover the first day the player and their partner spend on the mining platform.

Now I just have to finish the rest of the character art, some splash screens, and then probably spend like a month squashing various bugs.

The game will be free, and I’ll post it on here when it’s properly playable.

In the domain of the Ochre-Bloomed Watcher, a mechanical grove tender inspects a dying bloom within its master’s garden estate...

Grove tenders are the result of a mortal soul being unwoven from its original form, and tethered to a mechanical body. The process is a closely guarded secret of the Ibriskin dictators, a species of sapient plants which live in the depths of the sub-eratan layer, within the great caverns of Breyat. The creation of a grove tender is generally a form of punishment, and grove tenders serve as slaves to the Ibriskin dictator who created them until the day they die. While grove tenders do not have an upper limit on their age, they are generally considered expendable by their master, and are often simply discarded, or untethered and then recycled with a new soul. The soul of a grove tender is always on display, generally atop their head, in order to ensure that they are always vulnerable to a swift end at the word of their master.

While grove tenders are commonplace in the Ibriskin Combine, slavery is heavily frowned upon by those from the surface, and occasionally grove tenders are secreted out of the combine to live free lives upon Eratoh’s surface.

Far in the west of the Malai Fiefs, and deep within the undercity of Fa, a kulper street-shaman communes with his god...

His is the god of the recent dead - the patron of the most important step in the cycle of new life. Its name is Fresh Corpse, and it embodies the newly dead flesh of all creatures. Shamans of Fresh Corpse take communion by consuming the flesh of recently deceased loved ones in order to return their mortal body to the cycle of life and death, and to better ferry their souls towards the next life.

Shamans of Fresh Corpse are devoted to speeding along the cycle of life and death by means of turning the leftover flesh of others to energy for themselves and their followers. For those who adhere to Fresh Corpse’s ideals, to be eaten upon their death is a solemn honor, and ensures the journey to their next life will be swift.
