Erbenoceras, named by Bogoslovsky 1962, is an agoniatitid ammonite from the Devonian, found wide spread across Eurasia. Shells are generally large and narrowly discoidal. Coiling is commonly evolute, with whorls barely in conaect The umbilicus which lies within the outer whorl is wide, with a wide opening (perforation or window) in the middle. Whorls expand in size at a rate of 1.5 to 1.8 per volution. Shells are coarsely ribbed and have course growth lines. The suture has a small external lobe, on the outer rim, a widely rounded lateral lobe, on either side, and a shallow internal saddle on the inner rim.
