Every day I dig myself farther and farther into rarepair hell, and at this point I doubt there's any hope for me

Hmm... I feel like writing more Eldgun parenthood (and general Eldgun and Levi Squad) head canons!

-Being Eld and Günther are the first couple in their friend group to both adopt and have a baby, Levi and Petra and Auruo and Hanji often BEG Eld to send pics and vids of Armin, Ingrid, and Gun (Levi and Petra adopted Eren and Mikasa, and are working on conceiving their own baby while Auruo and Hanji are anticipating the arrival of their son)... even at the most inopportune times 😬

-Günther: *smiles for the camera, but also flips Eld off as he’s attempting to nurse and rock a teething, fussy Armin to sleep*

-‘Course the children like both uncle-aunt pairs, but Auruo and Hanji are Armin’s favorite while Levi and Petra are Ingrid’s. Armin likes it when Hanji reads scientific picture books to him, and enjoys ‘driving’ Auruo’s Dodge Ram (he’ll just sit in Auruo’s lap with his tiny hands over Auruo’s as his uncle operates the truck 😂❤️). Aunt Petra SPOILS Ingrid, and I mean spoils... Probably because she’s the only niece she has. For now, anyway... Levi? Levi won’t say it out loud, but he enjoys giving Ingrid baths and hearing her giggle and Petra will send pictures and videos to the group chat for everyone to enjoy. Auruo and Hanji have caught onto this, and now they have a friendly competition going- “Who can send the most adorable baby pics and vids in one day?” There’s days where Petra and Levi win, and others where Hanji and Auruo win. Aaaaand then there’s Eld who will outdo them all at the end of the day and just DUMP a bunch of cuteness on them, and they can’t handle it

-... It could be the raging hormones talking, but Hanji sometimes feels as though the only reason Auruo dated and, eventually, asked her to marry him was to ‘fill a void’ Petra left when she chose Levi over him... Petra and Günther as well as Auruo himself constantly have to reassure her that that isn’t the case, and Auruo truly does love her

-Günther and Hanji both hate pickles and tomatoes. The stench alone combined with their heightened sense of smell makes them gag (or WANT to gag in Gun’s case), and Hanji has acid reflux due to the fact she’s pregnant so eating one would just make it worse 😣 Eld, being the lovable jackass he is, likes to tease Günther by flicking pickles off his burger at his face, but is careful not to hit Hanji. He knows that Auruo would beat the living shit out of him should he ever pull that crap

-Günther: “Well screw you too, Eld...”

Eld: “I’m sorry, babe! You just make the most adorable shocked face!”

Günther: *peels the pickle off his forehead, and flings it at Eld- causing the blonde to laugh even harder* “Hell yeah I do”

-As annoying as Eld can be, he’s a great father and Günther is grateful that he’ll offer to take the kids out for a day so he can take a long nap, work on a project (he paints), or do some chores around the house

Eldgun: Parenthood ❤️❤️❤️

Who brought up having kids?) Eld. He’d wanted to be a father for the longest time, but knew that Günther was a little hesitant due to the fact he’s an only child and didn’t have much experience with children other than helping Auruo with babysitting his brothers. Eventually, though, Günther agreed that it was time to ‘spice things up’ and add a new member to the family

How many kids do they want/have?) They adopted Armin when he was two weeks old, and welcomed a baby girl, Ingrid, a year and a half later. They are discussing having another baby... once Armin’s toilet trained and Ingrid’s eating semi solids. And, the way Günther sees it, that’s not going to happen for a while (sorry, Eld!)

Who’s the disciplinarian, and who’s the fun parent?) I mean... Neither of them really ‘discipline’ the kids... After all, Armin’s only a little over a year old and Ingrid is two months old. When Armin throws a tantrum, his parents know that it could be for one of many reasons (he’s tired, hungry, overstimulated, under stimulated, needs his diaper changed, etc.) and do their best to meet his needs rather than punish him for screaming, crying, and making a mess (Eld gave him the nickname ‘Destructor’ after he knocked down his cardboard block house 😂). They will scold him, however, should he ever hit or kick either them or his sister

Sibling rivalry?) Okay... Armin was skeptical when he first saw th- this strange, tiny baby in a rather exhausted Günther’s arms. Maybe a little jealous, but he’s never hated Ingrid. To this day, she’s the most interesting thing he’s ever seen (other than Uncle Auruo after he’s bitten his tongue and Aunt Hanji’s test subjects, of course) and he loves her to bits

What did baby inherit from each parent?) As stated in a couple of previous head canons, Eld and Günther like to joke that Armin really is their child because he has Eld’s blond hair and Gun’s blue eyes, calmness, and intelligence. Ingrid, being their biological child, inherited most of Günther’s looks (again- sorry, Eld!) but did get Eld’s brown eyes, hyperactivity, and quick temper

Who can always get the baby to sleep?) Günther. He practically radiates calm, and has the best singing and storytelling voice. Eld tries (God bless his heart), but it’s hit or miss

How do they sleep?) Ingrid sleeps in a bassinet beside Günther, who’s rolled over onto his side to face her, while Armin’s sandwiched in between him and Eld. Every once in a while, he’ll kick Eld in the stomach or *cough* where the sun don’t shine, and a half asleep Günther will smirk while his mate groans in pain

Who’s the overprotective parent, and who’s more laidback?) Neither are ‘laidback’ individuals... Sure Eld likes to have fun but, when it comes to the safety of his mate and their kids, that’s when the claws come out. Günther’s not quite as... confrontational as Eld, but he is EXTREMELY attached to his babies. Ninety percent of the time, he has Armin clinging to his leg- peeking out every once in a while- and Ingrid strapped across his chest

What do they do together?) CUDDLES. Often times, they just want to stay in bed and watch Netflix- Armin sitting in Eld’s lap and sucking on a pacifier while staring intently at the screen, and Günther feeding Ingrid as Eld feeds him pizza and popcorn. Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and its sequel is a favorite in the Eldgun household 🙂 Otherwise, they go for walks through the park and go to the zoo (Armin loves animals. Especially marine animals), bookstore, strip mall, and out to eat

What do the parents do in their free time?) Auruo and Hanji as well as Levi and Petra will often offer to watch the kids for a couple days so Eld and Günther can catch up on some much needed sleep and relax. These are the days where Eld can wake up to Gun’s beautiful face in front of his and caress it, kiss him, and remind him just how powerful he is, and how proud he is of him 🥰
