sorry, no, not digging it.
really not digging the whole ‘bully of queer teen turned out to be queer himself and only bullied him to deal with his own insecurity, projecting his own self hatred onto someone else, only to now pursue his victim who he sees being happy with someone else and actually ending up ruining a relationship out of his own desperate need of acknowledgement from one man he has feelings for’-vibe that the writers are pushing in this season. you know are that problematic characters are perfectly capable of redeeming themselves without ruining other people’s relationships? you know that they are perfectly capable of changing without managing to win someone over? to see the show actually going in the direction of pairing up adam and eric really, really, really makes me fume, for to see someone actually accepting someone that has put them through as much pain and torment as adam has to eric? sickening. not my cup of tea.
yeah, people do change, and that is very, very fair. they are teens. also fair. what isn’t fair is how they execute this. adam bullied eric, made eric hate himself and fear his own identity, a fear we still see whenever he is around rahim, and you are now telling me that everything is going to be OKAY because adam wants eric to HOLD HIS HAND? this trope is old, dead and rotten. get it away. eric should have just brushed him off, given him a hug and been there as a friend instead of actually waltzing back into the arms of a guy who sneaked around with him, ashamed of being with him in public.
god forbid if we actually had a healthy m/m couple with differences for once.
My reaction to the "Sex Education" Season 3 Finale (Episode 8), but focusing more on the Adam and Eric scenes. I have no idea why the writers decided to do what they did with Adam, Eric, and Rahim. But oh well.
