In these beautiful photographs from Eric Bouvet’s series ‘Peace’ the photographer opens up a window to the Rainbow Family gatherings that happen across the world every year.
“Everyone said that 2012 would be a terrible year. The economy and society were all going to collapse. However I decided that 2012 would be a year of joy and peace.
So I went on a world tour of Rainbow Family gatherings. These are people who have decided to live in harmony with nature, to respect the earth and mankind. They are vegetarians. They meditate and do yoga. They reject today’s consumer society and its economy. The city is no longer part of their world. Harmony. Sharing. immersion in beautiful places with happy people full of positive energy. Everyone is welcome here.” -Eric Bouvet.
These pictures were taken over a period of a months at various gatherings in Brazil, the United States, Slovakia, Guatemala and India and are part of an ongoing annual pilgrimage that began in America in 1972.
