ASTERIAN is an upcoming English vocal to be developed and distributed by Eclipsed Sounds, LLC, and is expected to release as an AI voice database for Synthesizer V Studio in December 2022.
He is voiced by Eric Hollaway, an American voice actor and octavist singer.
Eric Holloway is twenty-one years old and is currently a sophomore at Nicolson Rye University. He is aligned with the vigilantes. His faceclaim is Dylan O'Brien and he is currently taken.
For the longest time in his life, Eric had no heroes. He knew that there was no one he could look up to and no one that wanted him to. His parents weren’t exactly the kind of people who kept themselves on the up and up. They weren’t even the kind of people who should be parents. Eric would wake up in the dead of night to the sound of them fighting, his father finally home. He didn’t know exactly what it was that his father did just that it was that bad. What mattered was that it kept his mother drinking her worries away. Eric learned to rely on himself. He made his own lunches out of whatever he could find in the fridge, he signed himself up for baseball, and learned to forge his parents’s signatures for school trips. And he learned to be wary. It was never good to get on either of his parents’s bad sides. His mother was a sloppy drunk whose fists would fly all too easily once she had some alcohol in her and his father had something dark in him that Eric never trusted. They’d never played catch together rather his father taught him how to throw a punch. When his father was arrested for assault and robbery charges when Eric was twelve, he felt more relief than fear. Eric only felt guilty for those feelings when his mother died in a car crash three years later. He knew a child shouldn’t feel unburdened without his parents, but he wanted to be one of the good guys like the heroes in his comic books. His parents surely hadn’t been that.
And Eric’s life admittedly only improved once his uncle Luke Donovan took him in. Luke was a real hero, the police chief for Metropolis and a war veteran. He was the kind of guy who actually remembered to buy new clothes and food for a growing boy. Eric idolized him, burying his guilt over his parents. For the first time in his life, Eric got to be a kid. His grades improved drastically as Luke became a parent and took responsibility. Eric saw his future begin to brighten all because of his uncle. He had time to study for tests, to get to practice on time, and hang out with friends. He was no longer the kid with too small shoes and a growling stomach. Eric felt the potential his teachers had always talked about growing inside of him. The proudest day of his life was when he got his acceptance letter to Nicolson Rye University and saw the proud smile on Luke’s face.
Eric came into his own at college. He could really start over with people who hadn’t known him as the kid from a broken home. Eric could let himself go and just chill. He discovered that he was charming, using his cocky grin to get into the hearts of the both young women and men. A smirk usually played on his lips as he weaseled his way into parties he hadn’t been invited to or convinced professors to give him an extension on his papers. And there was a part of him that feared that this manipulative side of himself went further. Eric had seen that same smile on his father. He worried that he had that same darkness inside of himself. His father certainly hadn’t cared for rules and Eric frankly didn’t see the issue in bending them to help himself or someone else. He started to look up to the vigilantes, the heroes that protected the innocent all through the night. A greater good existed, but Metropolis was muddled in shades of grey. In the end, would anyone really notice if that grey was manipulated to help those in need? Eric convinced himself to ignore his conscious and instead stalk the nights whenever he felt that heroism surge inside of him. All he had was a baseball bat, but he was certain that even a hero needed help.
