Eric Pohlmann in the 1950s (2 of 3)
In 1954, in war drama, They Who Dare, Eric Pohlmann played a Greek submarine captain tasked with transporting commandos on a dangerous mission to an island to destroy two airfields. The captain, with Balkan accent, this time assuredly Greek, didn't give the commandos much confidence as to his reliability on returning to pick them up. The film starred Dirk Bogarde and Denholm Elliott.
In 1955, Eric Pohlmann appeared in 7 films and 5 TV programs. In the first film, Pohlmann played a man who claimed he could go without eating for 70 days in The Glass Cage or The Glass Tomb as it was later known. A glass cage was built to house him at a carnival sideshow, in view of paying customers, billing him as The Starving Man, where is claim is put to the test. It starred John Ireland and Honor Blackman. This film is a mystery drama. I guess changing the title to The Glass Tomb gives away who the murder victim was.
Also in 1955, he played a Producer in an American musical comedy, Gentlemen Marry Brunettes. The film stars Jane Russell and Jeanne Crain. Pohlmann does not sing in the film.
Eric Pohlmann also appeared as a guard in Quentin Durwood in 1955, a swashbuckling, action-adventure film. He basically plays the top henchman for the bad guys.
Eric Pohlmann was in 7 films in 1956, though the last 2 were uncredited. He also appeared in 6 TV programs.

In 1957 Eric Pohlmann appeared in 7 films and 6 TV programs. Television is growing more popular and less movies are being made.
Photo 1. Pohlmann appeared in the crime drama The Counterfeit Plan playing a conspirator. The movie starred Zachary Scott and Peggie Castle.
Photo 2. He was in crime drama Interpol, aka Pickup Alley, about heroin smuggling starring Victor Mature and Anita Ekberg.
Photo 3. Fire Down Below, Pohlmann played a creepy hotel manager. The film starred Americans Robert Mitchum, Jack Lemmon and Rita Hayworth.
Eric Pohlmann played a Mexican Police Sergeant in crime drama Across the Bridge starring Rod Steiger.
Pohlmann's characters in many of these crime drama movies had accents and didn't make it through til the end.
