Eric Princeton is the shadow of the man he used to be – realistic, tough-hearted, with a gun for a tongue. But ages turns us all into people we don’t want to become. As time takes away his disposition, Eric begins to work harder to find whoever is associated with the event that took Oliver Cuthbert’s life away. As impersonal as he may have been in the past, Eric has taken it as a personal matter and he won’t rest until his hawk eyes precisely identify the ones that are corrupting Anchori’s reputation. There comes a time when a man doesn’t care about anything but success – for Eric, this time has just arrived.
Born and raised in New York, the Princeton’s have always had a good reputation among the New York elite. Not that they cared though, for Eric’s parents took their conscience as something more important than their reputation. They were both doctors and philanthropists intensely involved with the welfare of the population; their children – a total of five – were expected to follow their path in life and not rest in the comfort of luxury or money, but it was easier said than done. Eric, being the eldest of five, little cared about the beliefs and principles that were cherished in the Princeton’s house. He was far less idealistic and hopeful than his parents. They were dreamers, but he was a doer. And that’s how conflict set them apart.
When the boy finished high school, his parents were ready to receive an acceptance letter from any prestigious medical school in the country. This expectation became their utmost disappointment. Eric wanted nothing to do with studying for some time; the adventurous boy was ready to travel the world and live his life on his own terms, which not only angered his parents, but also made him lost the approval of his siblings and relatives. Ultimately seen as lazy and uninterested, Eric left for good for over a year, having the opportunity to meet the world and see it as it was, not as his parents wanted him to.
However hard it may have been for the Princeton’s, when Eric came back, they did not take him, nor did they welcome him with open arms. He was nothing but a Judas, one that refused to follow by his parents’ guidelines and therefore, did not deserve to be seen as family. The Princeton’s had always taken rules to heart and they were not willing to turn a blind eye to the disappointment that Eric had brought to the family when he took off to travel the world – with their own money.
Alone and somewhat frustrated, the boy realized he’d have to do it all by himself. During the time he traveled, he had taken a liking to reading and studying the law of the countries Eric had been to. This led him to what is seen as the best decision of his life – getting into law school. In the beginning it was nothing but a hobby, something to distract his mind from the newfound loneliness of not keeping in touch with his family. What was meant to be a source of pleasure eventually became a source of money and status when Eric received a job proposal, which was shortly followed by a marriage - and the birth of his child. All at twenty seven years of age.
He’s been working at Anchori for more than ten years, but the work hasn’t gotten any easier. Neither has his life. Recently divorced and with a young man to raise, Eric has begun questioning his past choices. He's lost contact with his family, mostly due to the fact that he became a busy man. But work is no excuse to forget about the important things in life, is it?
Eric's become a father, a successful investigator who stands his ground and a divorced man. However, his personality hasn't changed. He's still the same realistic and tough man, although the dark circles around his eyes reveal his tiredness and hopeless attitude towards the world. He can be extremely hard-working and focused, but nonetheless, Eric is a lone one, who prefers to work by himself.
MILES PRINCETON: His son and heir to his fortune. Eric has exceptionally high expectations of him - something he's taken from his parents. He wants Miles to follow the right path in life, whatever that means to Eric.
HELENA RIVERA: Has got his eyes on her, but not in the romantic way. She's come off as suspicious and he does not like her one bit, no matter how impersonal Eric tries to be.
RICHARD MULLER: They work side by side, even though they're both from different departments, Richard trusts and confides in Eric.
[RICHARD MULLER]: You think this is over? It's not.
[MILES PRINCETON]: I want you home by midnight.
[MILES PRINCETON]: One am. No more excuses.
