LUX AURUMQUE (LIGHT & GOLD) – Eric Whitacre
I miss performing things like this.... I'm not in my school's National level Chamber Choir anymore because they had to cut down numbers... They cut me out into the smaller version because I hadn't been in the Lincoln Cathedral Choir before I joined so I wasn't short listed... I still feel slightly betrayed, because I had been with them since before they were National standard and been everywhere with them...Performed the Requiem Mass with them and everything, all since I was 11.. Then they cut me out because they let in too many Sopranos... Really sucks, but I will remember Eric Whitarce's harmonies as long as I live... I feel so jealous of those in my year who still get to do this....
I cannot describe how it feels to be stood amongst and be a part of the harmonies, performing this in a such a beautiful place like Lincoln Cathedral... It's like...the definition of, well, magic.
