📌 [HOMMAGE] 🖤 Il y a 25 ans exactement. Dans la nuit du 12 au 13 juin 1998, Éric Tabarly disparaît en mer d'Irlande. Hommage à un marin ⚓ de légende à l'origine du renouveau de la navigation en solitaire en France. Éric Tabarly. À 5 ans quand on lui demande ce qu'il veut faire plus tard Éric Tabarly répond : « amiral ». Il n'aime pas l'école mais comme son père il est amoureux des bateaux et de la mer. À 21 ans cette forte tête s'engage dans l'aéronavale puis intègre l'école navale. Les commentaires de ses supérieurs décrivent le Tabarly qui passera à la postérité :« refuse de se plier à la discipline de l’école… » « Valeur militaire Médiocre » « Excellent marin « certainement plus doué pour faire (…) un navigateur solitaire qu’un officier de Marine » « Excellent camarade ». En 1964 pour participer à la course transatlantique en solitaire il se met en détachement spécial de la Marine nationale. Il conçoit un ketch de 13,60 mètres, construit sur le modèle du Pen Duick I familial acheté par son père en 1938. Le Pen Duick II entièrement en contreplaqué avec une faible surface de voilure est totalement à contre-courant des constructions de l'époque. C'est en chandail marin bleu marine que l'enseigne de vaisseau Tabarly franchit la ligne d'arrivée devant Francis Chichester-quasi inventeur de la course en solitaire- à Newport le 18 juin 1964.  C'est Saint James qui fabrique pour la marine française ces chandails, hérités des chemises de laine brute que portaient les pêcheurs bretons. Leur boutonnage sur le côté facilite l'enfilage et les 21 rayures (les bleus unis sont réservés aux officiers) -hommage aux victoires Napoléonienne- permettraient de repérer plus facilement un marin tombé à l'eau. Tabarly est accueilli en héros ! Lui qui s'attendait à faire cette course dans l'indifférence générale !  Il reçoit le trophée des mains de Lord Mountbatten. "L'idole des houles" comme le surnomme Kersauson a mis une rouste aux anglais ! de Gaulle exulte et le fait chevalier de la Légion d’honneur.  Quand on retrouvera son corps en mer en 1998, il porte ses bottes bleues en caoutchouc, son pantalon de coton rouge ainsi que son pull marin bleu marine avec l'inscription « Éric Tabarly. En bateau, on sait ou on ne sait pas. Eric Tabarly: Pilot petty officer of naval aeronautics (non-commissioned officer), then naval officer up to the rank of captain, he developed a passion for offshore racing very early on and won several ocean races such as the Ostar in 1964 and 1976.

Haroun Tazieff: born in Warsaw is an agricultural engineer, geological engineer, mining engineer, volcanologist and writer born Russian then naturalized successively Belgian and finally French.

Jacques-Yves Cousteau: French Navy officer and oceanographic explorer.

Nicknamed "Commander Cousteau", "JYC" or even "the Pasha", he is known to have perfected with Émile Gagnan the principle of the scuba diving suit with the invention of the regulator bearing their names, an essential part of modern scuba diving. .
