Seriously and in earnest? 1999-2000. I was at college between 93-96 and should have been on the same email lists and newsgroups as my friends, but I didn’t actually engage with it then (there was something psychologically significant going on with the way I noped out of engaging with many aspects of university infrastructure.) In late 99 someone set up a message board for my favourite internet humour site (The Brunching Shuttlecocks if anyone remembers that) and I started posting there, became moderator after the first near-annual February Psychodrama (there has always been drama) and posted, modded and later adminned for about 10 years
4. If you went to college, does your major match your career/current job?
Not really to be honest. But it has helped.
6. When did you get your first cell phone? What was it like? (Did it have a screen? Could you text? Was it a brick or flip?)
1995. Nokia brick. Yes we could SMS. I wouldn’t have got one but there were reasons why I needed one at the time. First phone I had with a screen and WAP and predictive text was the Nokia 7110 in 2000. I remember looking up football scores on it and thinking this is the future.
7. When did your family first acquire a color TV?
We always had one as long as I can remember so it would have been before 1978 let’s say.
