Ever since he left the Wizarding World behind, Draco has had to work in the Muggle world, not having the safety blanket of his family fortune to support him now after the war. He ends up the owner of a “haunted” cafe, when the “ghost” grows so worrisome that the previous owner and his fellow employees fled, not wanting to be on the receiving end of its violence. The only thing is, neither Draco nor Harry have actually seen the ghost, despite seeing the evidence of there being one. Harry thinks there’s more to the mystery than that. And, unfortunately for Draco’s sanity, Harry loves mysteries.

Welcome to the first Weekly Round-Up of @hd-erised!

Harry probably would have hated academic probation, too, if he weren’t busy hating his tutor. Malfoy does a lot less tutoring than Harry would have thought, and anyway, Malfoy’s clearly Up To Something. Malfoy has a secret, and he knows Harry is determined to figure it out. He’ll even tell him, too, if only Harry can explain why he wants to become an Unspeakable. Too bad Harry doesn’t have a clue.

Harry lives solo in the Rocky Mountains, and has grown to be one with nature and wild magics. Desperate for a breakthrough in his arcanoecology research, Draco makes the mistake of listening to his co-worker Luna.

Travel complications leave Draco stranded in a small town in Scotland. Having to make last minute arrangements, he stays in a B&B run by Harry. While his problems are being taken care of, Draco needs to adjust to life in a small cottage along with the infuriating, but oddly endearing, host.
The Curse Breaker's Apprentice for @smugrobotics [E, 61k]
The annoyance of Draco Malfoy looking like a cross between a catwalk model and a wet dream come to life had been a permanent irritant to Harry since fifth-year. No one deserved to look that good while being such a massive twat. Draco Malfoy is back. Back from France, back in Harry’s life and back to being a colossal thorn in his side. Wherever Harry goes, Malfoy is there; stealing his dream job, hijacking his friends and cockblocking him left, right and centre. It can't be coincidence: Draco Malfoy is most definitely Up To Something. You'd think things couldn't get any worse, but throw in an enchanted ring, a mysterious curse and a disgruntled ex-fiancée, and Harry's suddenly got a lot more trouble than he bargained for.
How to Court a Stubborn, Arrogant, Depressed Alpha for @maraudersaffair [E, 12k]
What’s a newly presented Omega to do when discovering Draco Malfoy as he’s being escorted to Azkaban for a seven-month sentence is his Alpha and Fated Mate? What’s the poor Omega to do when said Alpha rejects him because he feels he’s not worthy and would rather die? Courting him seems to be the best solution.

It’s a familiar ritual, but one he will never tire of. Draco’s pretty into it, too.

Middle-aged bachelor Harry sets out to do something about hunger in Wizarding Britain. Draco offers his orchard's apples, walnuts, and oddly terrible pears. They team up to help when a pair of neglected children enter their lives. There's a hole in the weather, kids tie toast to apple-trees, and consolatory spumoni is consumed.

After the war, Harry is content on staying well within the confines of Grimmauld Place, thank you very much. That is, until an ominous glow appears from the willow tree at the end of the garden, luring him in, desperate to be seen.

Draco Malfoy has bled, cried, and spent a lot of money to turn his dream apothecary into a real business. Harry Potter is an Auror trying to track tainted love potions that are leaving a path of destruction in their wake. If the two of them stop bickering long enough to work together, they just might be able to crack the case.

H/D Erised 2025 Stats Post!
Hi phenomenal @hd-erised community! Our Anonymous Masterlist posted two days ago, and reveals will be up on Wednesday, January 7th, so there’s still plenty of time to catch up on any of the submissions you might have missed before then! While we’re all waiting eagerly to find out who did what, may we interest you in some stats for the 2025 fest? :D
This year we had a total of 51 submissions: 11 beautiful pieces of art, and 38 fantastic fics, and two lovely submissions that did both!! Let’s dig into the details, shall we?
Fanart Stats: This year we had 11 gorgeous digital art pieces. The average submission from our amazing artists this year was ~14 pages, with our longest comic coming in at 33 pages!! The total number of pages we had between all of our art submissions was 147, so definitely loads to enjoy! We’re so impressed with all of the fantastic art we’ve had this year, and we hope that you are too!
Fanart Rating Breakdown: 1 General Audiences 5 Teen & Up 3 Mature 2 Explicit (plus 2 explicit fic + art!!!!)

Fanfic Stats: This year we had a total of 38 total stories created for this wonderful fest, for an astounding total of:
~1,020,000 words!!!
That’s way more than one million words of Harry and Draco loving on each other and getting up to all sorts of shenanigans! Are you impressed with the dedication of our spectacular writers? Because we sure are!
Our shortest fic this year was 5.1k, while our longest was ~90k! The average fic length this year was ~25k—a perfect size for a day’s read! :D (24 total fics are <25k <3)
Of those 38 stories, we had: 7 Teen & Up 3 Mature 28 Explicit
And once again, the smut has come out on top! (Or on the bottom, as the case may be…)
In those stories, Harry and Draco got up to all sorts of activities in all sorts of places. We had facials and fingering and frottage, wanking and rimming, hand jobs and blow jobs, and of course anal sex (sometimes with somnophilia or collaring or monsterfucking). Of the fics where there was penetration, Draco bottomed about only 1.15x more than Harry, but, as always, they certainly were versatile!
And that versatility isn’t limited to the bedroom (or any of the other places these boys got up to their shenanigans!); we also saw it in their careers. As we’ve seen in years past, Harry’s most popular career of choice was Auror (11 fics—though sometimes we saw a career switch for him!), but he also had a variety of other jobs, including: man of leisure, magical handyman, orphanage owner, professional Quidditch player, professor (or PE teacher, thank you very much), and a wandmaker, amongst other things!
Draco, on the other hand, as usual held a much wider variety of careers. His most popular career was a cursebreaker (at only 4 fics!). He was also a Tedium Taskmaster, bookshop owner, Healer, broommaker, Potions Master, resistance fighter, and a politician among many others!
Once again, our most popular time period by a landslide was Post-Hogwarts EWE with 33 fics set after the boys have left Hogwarts and ignoring (or mostly ignoring) the Epilogue, but we had a diversity of other settings: multiple Voldemort Wins AUs, multiple Muggle AUs, and several eighth years <3 Incredible, right? We’re so impressed with all of our marvelous participants!!
We’d like to give a great big THANK YOU to each and every single one of you, all of our incredible writers and artists who devoted their creative energies to this fest, and another great big THANK YOU to all of our readers, commenters and reccers – you make @hd-erised the wonderful event and community it is, and we are so, so grateful to mod this fest for you.
