Ernie and Regina are by far the two most important non-Nio people in Ayesha's life, so the fact they don't show up at all in either of the following games does hurt quite a bit, I have to admit.
One of my favorite things about Ayesha and Ernie is that everytime. Without exception. That Ernie goes "hey Ayesha can you do me a favor and help me help a friend" she immediately follows up with "oh is this friend :) special :) perhaps :) a nice cute girlfriend :)" and he has to personally pop her bubble
Because the thing is! Ernie is literally the only person she acts like this to! Every other hint of romance in the game, she reacts with obliviousness at best or horror at worse. She is only like this for Ernie. Ayesha wants him to be happy and loved so bad it's SO CUTE.
