ERPC Settlement Highlights Thermal power India Costs
The ERPC June settlement shows that beneficiary states requisitioning less than 85% of their entitlement resulted in about Rs 111.9 crore of cumulative part-load compensation for central-sector thermal stations during FY2026-27 through June. Farakka, Barh-I, Kahalgaon-II and Barh-II accounted for the largest claims as sustained under-loading reduced operating efficiency. At the same time, several of these stations posted relatively weak frequency-response Beta scores, highlighting an additional impact on system support.
The findings demonstrate how prolonged part-load operation can affect both compensation costs and overall grid performance.
