Olivia de Havilland & Errol Flynn on the set of They Died With Their Boots On (1941)
Olivia: I'm cold.
Errol: Here, take my jacket.
Judy: Hey, I'm cold too.
Gene: What? *taking off jacket* I told you to bring more layers but of course you didn't listen and now *piling scarves on her her* now look, I've got to make sure you don't FREEZE to death and *taking somebody else's hat* how long have you been cold, you should've said something sooner-
The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938) is airing at 6 pm ET Sunday, Aug. 23, on TCM. We’ll be live-tweeting along at https://twitter.com/oldhollywood21 with this glorious swashbuckler that is part of Olivia de Havilland’s Summer Under the Stars tribute.
A very happy 111th birthday to the wonderful and most dapper Errol Flynn! He is my favourite actor (next to Ivor Novello) and would have deserved a much longer and happier life with a nicer wife (not that I have anyone particular in mind cough cough).
I can only recommend his autobiography. It is very entertaining and honest and a joy to read!
What a lovely gesture from Olivia de Havilland to Errol Flynn 💖 I love these pictures! Quite frankly, this is my favorite movie couple of all time.
“It’s very sad because Errol Flynn never married the only woman he truly loved: Olivia de Havilland. He should have married her and had a longer and happier life.” — Bette Davis
“There are no words to describe my feelings for Errol Flynn.” - Olivia de Havilland
Errol: I've lied to every girl I said "I love you" to. I thought I loved them but then I met you and I realized I've never been in love before.
Olivia: Aw, I did not know that.
Errol: Yeah, it was eating me up inside. So, I called them all individually and said "I never loved you."
Olivia: Okay, that seems unnecessary.
