SWFupload and the pesky ERROR 401

Today I came across with some problems with an old installation of SWFupload and a htpasswd & htaccess protected website. When protected the SWFupload will not complete and returns the error: ‘Upload Error: 401’.

The solution is to edit your .htaccess file and add:

<Files "upload.php"> Satisfy Any </Files>

Just a quick note, but if you’re getting “Error 401″ on retags notifications, we just pushed a fix—you can go to XKit Menu > Other > Update All Extensions to get the new version.

It’s the first time I post about this here, but I’ve been a radio host for almost two years at the local university radio station.
