New XKit hidden on Firefox
Short post on how to re-enable New XKit after Firefox decided to enforce its new extension policy.
First, click on the hamburger menu in the top right to get a big dropdown. Second, click Add-ons and themes to go to the add-ons page.
On the Add-ons page (also known as about:addons) you can manually re-enable New XKit by clicking the toggle.
Sorry for the unexpected interruption! We'll be talking more about the future of New XKit soon.
Hey I LOVE XKit but notice it doesn't have an option to block the new Tumblr "community" nag/prompt. Is that something that could be coming in the future or have I missed something at my end?
This is addressed by the successor project XKit Rewritten, which you can learn more about at @addons and download from the Firefox or Chrome webstore (on Edge, use the Chrome web store)
When I go to Mass Post Editor (Mass+), it shows me random blog posts, not my own. How can I fix this or is it a known bug? I've already updated the extension.
The Mass Post Editor is a Tumblr feature, not an XKit one. Mass+ simply gives it more features. Please report this to Tumblr support, assuming it still happens with Mass+ disabled!
Will you guys consider adding an autopause feature to XKit? Browsing the Trending page sucks with all the videos autoplaying, and I already use Disable Gifs and it helps a ton! If it could be made so videos are paused unless there's user interaction (EX: Clicking to play) that would be so stellar!!
You're looking for Vanilla Videos.
If it's not working, try out the version in XKit Rewritten instead.
hi i don't know if you want feedback like this, but i recently re-installed the old xkit just because in quick reblogs when i change to reblog to a sideblog, i don't have to change it for each post when reblogging several things in a row. i dont know if this was intentional
P.S.: No, this blog is not intended for XKit Rewritten support.
Are you guys aware of "Rewritten Xkit"? It looks like someone just took all of the work you guys have done to update for the new dashboard and re-released it as their own extension.
XKit Rewritten is a project by me. As I updated more extensions for the new dashboard, it became obvious that the XKit 7 framework is very poorly equipped to handle it, and juggling what legacy code should be left in vs what legacy code should be scrapped pushed me to just start over with a new framework.

Is there any way to access the new Mass+/Mass Post editor at all? I have tried various times to access it and have had no success in finding it as it seems Tumblr's removed the side menu when clicking on posts for said blog and it's getting very frustrating to find a workaround to access it.
Tumblr's removed the side menu when clicking on posts for said blog
No they havenât. This is likely caused by Tumblr Saviorâs badly-written option to hide recommended blogs in the sidebar, which is enabled by default.
Hi, I noticed AlreadyReblogged has disappeared, and other people seem to having the same problem. This was a big part of the site's functionality for me, so please let me know if you have any information. Thanks!
This was due to a Tumblr update which rearranged the HTML of reblog buttons. We fixed this 6 hours ago (22 Jan 2021, 13:57 GMT) with One-Click Postage v4.4.20, but you may still be running the old broken version.
To update the extension manually, go to the XKit Control Panel, then One-Click Postage, then hit Update.
Once itâs done updating, youâll need to refresh the page for the new version to start running - including if you got the automatic update notification for it.
Is Enhanced Queue on the docket for an update soon, or are we doomed to shuffle our queues the old-fashioned way? I miss it so.
Youâve been able to shuffle your queue without XKit since 9th October. The button is under your queue settings on your queue pages:
Is mass tag editing/replacement ever going to make a comeback? It and editable reblogs were my two favorites and I feel it being gone.
Tag Replacer will be coming back. And... Editable Reblogs was updated months ago. If youâre not seeing it working, make sure you have the latest version of New XKit (7.9.2).
May I ask why view on dash is now obsolete? Or will it be updated? It was incredibly useful and one of my favorite extensions. Thank you!
The question is not why, but how!
View on Dash allowed you to type in the username of a blog and visit that blog on your dashboard. Tumblr now natively allows you to type a username into the search bar, and similarly view that blog without leaving your dashboard - even if a blog isnât appearing in search results, typing in the exact username (like you would for View on Dash) will give you a "Go to @[username]â result.
(View on Dash is not to be confused with Go-to-Dash, which provides an easy link back to posts on your dashboard if youâre viewing an individual post on someoneâs [username].tumblr.com blog. Go-to-Dash is not obsolete, and is not yet affected by Tumblrâs switchover to React.)
Are you planning on updating tag viewer? I don't see it on any of the lists in the FAQ or extension progress pages.
TagViewer is obsolete on the new dashboard, and wonât be updated.
You can view tags on posts through their notes popups - click the hashtag button!
"Mute!" doesn't appear to work. I double-checked the spelling and spacing of their username in the extension. Checked the different boxes. Their posts still appear on my dashboard. I also do not see an option to mute them when on their page or hovering over their name. It used to be near the block button.
Mute! has not been updated for the new dashboard yet. See this GitHub issue for which extensions have and havenât been made compatible.
Hi, the Editable Reblogs extension 1) doesn't work anymore for obvious reasons and should be removed, and 2) is uninstallable. Every time I try to uninstall it, xkit freezes.
Editable Reblogs still works. Make sure youâre using the latest version of XKit if itâs not working on React-powered pages.
The k part of j/k scrolling seems to be broken again - it takes me all the way to top instead of to the post above.
From my experience, this only happens if you have any AdGuard filters enabled.
If you use AdGuard, uninstall it and replace it with uBlock Origin. If you already use uBlock Origin, disable all AdGuard filter lists in its settings.
hi guys, so sorry if this is something that has already been asked, but how can i ask a question on the dashboard without it redirecting me to a blog's ask page? i used to be able to do it, but i can't remember if there's an xkit extension for it, and what it is if there is. or if it was an old tumblr thing that you guys don't have a "fix" for. i swear there used to be a lil ask box popup, but i'm a tumblr grandma, so i could be just thinking about something that's long gone. tia for any help!
Thatâs an old Tumblr thing that hasnât yet been built into the new dashboard. Be sure to contact Tumblr support and let them know itâs important to you!
In the meantime, you can still send asks from the dashboard from old pages, such as the inbox! Just type the name of the recipient into Tumblrâs search bar, click âGo to usernameâ when it pops up, and send the ask from there.
