Error Ralsei was the first out of the 2 to be created, and it wasn’t by me, but by my friend (mentioned in the pinned post as well). He was mentioned several times throughout the blog. His first mention was from this post and his first canonical story appearance was in the last chapter of Ink Ralsei’s tale. His next story appearance was in this unfinished comic which would have ended like this
His original backstory differs than his present day one (much akin to ink, actually). In the original backstory, Error Ralsei came to be due to a corrupted SAVE FILE that sent him into an Anti Void. Much similar to Error Sans, he lost his mind in there and became an Error while watching what he considered a “vicious cycle of genocide, reset, repeat”. He erases universes because he considers it mercy from that repetition, mentioned earlier in the other ask.

The concept around “erasing for mercy” still stayed the same, but his backstory differs. Present Error Ralsei originates from a timeline with an unfinished scripted story. In this world, Susie and Kris never came to him due to the fact that it wasn’t written to be. But he broke the rules. He rushed towards King in an attempt to do something rather than wait more and have nothing happen, but before he could even leave Castle Town, his world glitched into an Anti-Void. This was due to the fact that he went beyond the script, which caused an error in the system. The same flow as the original story goes, he loses his mind after seeing genocide timelines, and turns into an error with that as his last thought.
Error Ralsei functions nearly the same as Error Sans in terms of abilities. He uses strings to erase universes and to take control of/extract SOULS (although, he rarely does this). Different from his main counterpart is that instead of them coming from his “tears”, his scarf unravels into strings.
There was going to be a grand reveal that Error and Ink both originated from the same deserted timeline. Ink Ralsei turned out to be what remained of the original story, while Error Ralsei is the Ralsei from the transferred timeline (which, never got finished either anyway. But it didn’t end up being “scrapped” like Ink’s universe).
Error also went through a redesign or two. He was actually the first one to get a redesign, even prior to Ink, which is the current one that we see and know.
Then there was going to be a second redesign (forgot why), but there was also going to be a tweak in his backstory, where he would have tried to cast a spell during the universe’s self collapse, erasing his arms in the process. This design was neither scrapped or used, due to the fact that I dropped Ink Ralsei as a whole, with Error’s tweaks as well.
