I was replaying the story mode of Splatoon 3 with my partner and they had a theory that the octarians we fight might be the last of Octavio’s troops.

Since they said that it hasn’t left my head. It just makes sense. Most of his troops have dealt with agents 3 and 4, those who heard the inkcantation have wandered off into the metro which seems to be connected to octo canyon or octo valley, maybe both and ended up satanized, and now they’ve been furried.

Octavio doesn’t seem like he’d normally leave his post unless absolutely necessary so him tracking down Cuttlefish to find out what happened to his people means he didn’t really have much left. He was desperate.

Since this is going off of pikmin 1 and probably another timeline where Olimar got the bad ending, he did die and never made it home and ended up turned into a leafling

Who knows how long he was a leafling for, but that’s besides the point. What I’m thinking is, do you think he can understand and communicate with Pikmin now?

I’d like to headcanon he can, idk if people like Bernard can because they were still alive when forcibly turned into them, maybe they can get  the gist of what they say or mean
