Nile shifted in place as he slowly and quietly repositioned himself. Rising up from his kneeling position to give his knees a rest, he now crouched, leaning forward and up against the wall to brace himself and to press his face flush with the hole in the wall. His single eye sweeping over the forms of the boys beyond the way. He was willing himself to study carefully, to pick up on every subtle movement and read their body language in an attempt to make up for the great enough distance between himself and the pair and not being able to hear the words that were now quietly being exchanged.

His gaze shot to the searching blue eyes, and he took note of their change from curiously questioning to relaxed, when Nile felt something shift. He followed the line of view from where Erwin was gazing up at Miche and what he saw startled him. Nile was shocked to find that Miche's gaze seemed to be holding his one-eyed stare. He stumbled in place, almost toppling over as the crumbled stone and gravel beneath his boot shifted about in his unsteady stance. He managed to catch himself, leaning heavily forward on the wall again, helping to keep himself upright.

Nile hung his head and took a breath for what felt like the longest stretch of time. His heart raced as he now stood frozen in fear. Surely Miche had seen him, heard the movement of the gravel shifting beneath his boots. His gazed as too pointed to be staring off into the distance. He was sure he had been caught and couldn't yet bring himself to check nor move from where he stood. Nile remained in his spot awaiting the consequences of his actions. Time felt suspended like a sheet being pulled taut, hard enough to start taking it apart at the seams and then all at once the tension began to slowly dissipate. Time settled into its usual pace again, and then nothing. Nothing happened. Nile chanced a quick peak only to find that Miche's quizzical stare had melted away and that his attention was fully returned to the eager fidgeting cadet pressed into the wall, waiting for his next move.

Cadet days Nile, Erwin, Miche, Nanaba, Hange and Moblit sparring.

Everyone pairs off, Moblit and Hange, Miche praying Nanaba flips him on his ass, Nile hoping Erwin picks him. Miche gets to Erwin first.

MobuHan are just goofing off. Rolling around in the dirt until Shadis shouts. Moblit straightens up and tugs on Hange's sleeve and they start taking sparring practice seriously.

Miche gets his wish and Nanaba lays him flat out on his ass. He's in heaven.

Erwin is taking everything entirely too serious, Miche has to haul him, lifting him up by the waist. Now he's thrashing but smiling. Nile gets palmed in the mouth cos he wasn't paying attention. He was angrily watching Miche twirl and mess with Erwin. Should be me. With Erwin. He thinks.

Nile is so pissy in my head. I love fucking with Nile, it's too fun. Turning him around in my head, making him miserable.

Nile catching Erwin on his tippy toes, back up against a wall chuckling at something Miche says. He is standing close; head curled down to bump foreheads with Erwin. They kiss. Nile, watching from an unseen corner.

Snitch runs off (after watching for a while) to tattle. Before he can get out names, Shadis, exasperated. "What is it now Dawk? You jealous? Go find some other cadet to get under. Maybe if you weren't so whiney you would have met your match by now." It's out of line, uncalled for, but Shadis is pissed. His fave barmaid hasn't been laughing at his jokes as much lately.

Nile storms off beat red, power walking back into the mess hall, crashes into Miche because his life isn't complicated enough.
