Eurovision Fact #950:

In 2023 the UK-based brewing company Brew York collaborated with five breweries to make a collection of beers inspired by the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest hosted in the United Kingdom.

The collection was called "Collabovision" and featured five beers based on previous Eurovision entries. The flavors, and the Eurovision inspirations were:

"Give that Wolf a Cherry," inspired by Norway's 2022 entry "Give that Wolf a Banana" by Subwoolfer.

"Adrenalina," inspired by San Marino's 2021 entey of the same name by Senhit, featuring Flo Rida.

"Fernando & Filippo," inspired by the 1966 Netherlands' entry of the same name by Milly Scott.

"Colour of Your Life," inspired by Poland's 2016 entry of the same name by Michał Szpak.

"Ghost" inspired by Germany's 2016 entry of the same name by Jamie-Lee.

ik no one cares about this, but it's pissed me off ever since I learned about it:

'Eres Tu' by Mocedades (Spain 1973) ENTIRELY plagiarized 'Brez Besed' by Berta Ambrož (Yugoslavia 1966).

Ik it doesn't matter anymore, but anyone with ears should've been able to tell. The song should've been disqualified, change my mind.

What makes it sting more is that 'Eres Tu' became wildly popular, while like no one remembers 'Brez Besed.' Idk, it just makes me sad.

Eurovision Fact #1077:

In 1966, Udo Jürgens won for Austria with his song "Merci, Chérie" with a landslide victory. The song earned the most set of five points, which at the time was the highest set of points that could be given, of any song that night. The song earned 31 points total, almost double the second place song.

Austria only finished in the top three once in the 20th century. This happened with their 1966 win thanks to Udo Jurgens. Udo placed sixth in 1964 and fourth in 1965 before finally securing the win.

In 1966, Denmark placed 14th, ending their success streak in the contest. This low placing led the nation to withdraw from the contest, only returning in 1978.
