[ BAR ] : for your muse to join mine at a bar //Ash @ nancy perhaps. : @escapedfromtheabyss
Long days were far more the norm than the unusual these days. Nancy knew it would have been the case once she had entered college and chose this profession. Hypnocil only did so much to create peaceful evenings. Sure, there wasn't a physical threat to sleep anymore. The medication did provide more of a dreamless sleep. But that didn't mean that there weren't moments before she fell asleep that her mind didn't become treacherous. Especially depending on the day and the patients that she had seen. Funny how she had thought that she wouldn't end up like her father, sitting in a bar, nursing a beer, and avoiding whatever struggles that the day had presented. It wasn't an often used coping mechanism but, every so often it was needed.
Normally, the evenings were quiet and she was left to her own devices. She didn't expect to have company for the evening in the form of an unfamiliar stranger. Still, despite herself, a smile formed. Something that she couldn't quite put her finger on about the man kept her from sending him off.
"I don't think I've seen you around here before..."
