While it is true that Ghostly International looks more like an alternative music label, Recondite, Jacaszek and the others make it fit that description, it also contains some musicians that are only a hit away from being a huge mainstream success. I consider Beacon to be one of them, since their sound contains all the markers of an incredible pop sensibility that mixes its modern context with the classicism. Nonetheless, that does not mean they should be fired from Ghostly, their sonic landscapes suit that label perfectly, because Beacon have a certain grounded ethereality, which results into songs that seem to be both kept at arm's length and within our reach. Their approach resembles their labelmates', yet they veer close towards the popular tones more often than them.
