TWINKIDS, the Los Angeles based queer pop duo of Tokyo born musician Gene Fukui and Florida native Matt Young, put forth their debut EP Boys Love last year, paying homage to the gay romance manga genre of the same name and drawing influence from both 80s J-pop and artists like Imogen Heap & Bonobo for the release. This year sees them continuing to enthrall our hearts with that recipe via songs like Jigoku Tengoku and now new single I’m Sorry, for which TWINKIDS recently shared a fresh music video. It’s a lush stirring, kaleidoscopic whirling synthpop song, a glossy simmering, diaphanous fluttering beauty that explores the complexity of relationships, and how we affect and manipulate one another even if we don’t mean to.
