Seeing Max again should mean good things, right? It meant he’s close enough back to camp where they just might make it out of here. Nope. All it means is a second victim.

Tears start to blur his vision. Or was that the blood loss? Neil can’t really tell. He stares at max for a long moment. Was this real? It felt like a horrible horrible dream.

“Could say the same to you, you look like shit.” Neil offered up a weak smile as he pressed his fingers against the gash in his stomach. His whole sweater was starting to turn into this ugly scarlet.

His breathing becomes labored as he tries to crawl over to max. He just needed to explain what was happening, what just attacked him so Max could get away for good. “We need to get back to camp.” Neils in no shape to walk. Let alone move.

idk what the nikki stuff is in ref 2 but id like to write an essay about how max is so in his own head and doesnt pick up on a lot of things and ends up being an ass to nikki sooo much even when he isnt actively trying to be An Asshole tm

It was more in regards to how many people seem to be demonizing her for poking fun at him ONCE in the newest episode with Nerris and Dolph (and even then it wasn’t malicious, it was more her being silly and poking fun at his grumpiness), despite the aforementioned being an ass to her on multiple occasions so I feel like she deserves to at least get one chance to poke fun at him after all the stuff he’s done to her previously.
