“Hii~iii!!”

🍃🏹➳ “Ki~rby,” she repeated, taking note of the creature’s gesture. “Your name is Kirby, huh?” The wizard watched him wolf down the food in surprise, wow, for a little guy, he sure could eat.

“Must’ve been hungry, huh Kirby?” She hesitated for a moment, wondering if continuing to feed what might be an invasive species would be a good idea. Feeding this one might bring a Trouble with Tribbles episode to all of Ooo for all she knew.

“You don’t reproduce asexually, do you, Kirby?” What a straightforward question.

Kirby nodded his head quickly, and finished his food even faster. “Ki~rby!” He had no idea what she was asking, but he reached over to shake her hands. He’d seen people in this world do that sort of thing.

As not only a baby, but an alien of this world, he had to rely on observations of the locals to learn proper communication. So far it seemed to be working!

He took a step back from the Huntress, then began to explain how to ended up in Ooo. From the origins of his planet Popstar, to how his Starship crashed. Although to the Huntress it probably would’ve sounded a lot like ‘Poyo ooi oiuu, poyo!’

So far whatever this thing was doing, it seemed harmless. Unlike fairies back in the valley; using their deceptively cute and fluffy looks to flutter close before sinking their horrid teeth into whatever they could. It doesn’t stop him from remaining defensive, though no matter how close he tucked into himself, it didn’t help lessen any worry that this blob might suddenly flash a pair of teeth and start biting everywhere.

“ Shoo! Be gone with you! ”

He tried flicking a hand towards it, but it seemed the second he’d made a move the pink blob started to move. With a short yelp, he stands on the tips of his toes and turns quickly the second the small thing slid out of his limited view. It’s almost out of instinct that he grabs as much of his cape as he can to pull it closer to him.

“ H-HEY! NO! DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT SULLYING MY FURS YOU… YOU… ”

“Poy?” Kirby gasped, then giggled as King Knight pulled his cape away. This must’ve been a game right? Keep away? Yeah, of course! The way the King was standing on his tippy toes, the energy of excitement. A game a game! Kirby promptly and quickly touched one side of the King’s cape, then switched around for another, and another, and another.

He thought it was fun, this game. SO much fun in fact that he fell over onto his round back in laughter. He was really just a baby, he didn’t know any better.
