Cassady Clover captured by Elizaveta Porodina for Escentric Molecules February 2024
Molecule 01 - Escentric Molecules
Note: Iso E Super
Eau de Toilette Unisex Molecule 01 consists of 100% Iso E Super, pure and singular. It combines with — almost caramelises with — your own smell to meld into a personal scent signature.
Molecule 01 has been said to cause animal magnetism — a latter-day love potion. Geza used the beautifully mysterious and democratic aroma-molecule Iso E Super as the star of this juice. He felt it expressed everything a perfumer could want: radiance, tenacity, and power.

Molecule 01 Escentric Molecules Nose: Geza Schoen
Woods
Molecule 01 consists of the molecule Iso E Super pure and singular.
Iso E Super is a molecule that hovers close to the skin to create an indefinable aura around the wearer.
It is characterised by a hyper-modern cedarwood note with a velvety sensation. Perfumer Geza Schoen explains its allure: "Iso E Super is one of those skin-sexy scents that makes you want to nestle into it. It's comforting, cocooning."
Iso E Super has a marked intermittence. To the wearer, it seems to vanish and then re-appear. This is due to the way it bonds with receptors in the olfactory system, only slowly releasing to make way for a fresh charge of the molecule on the receptors.
Iso E Super does not exist in nature. It was created in a laboratory at IFF in 1973.

Escentric Molecules Quick Takes
Smelled in the store, not on my skin; YMMV
Escentric Molecules has a cool gimmick -- their molecule perfumes are single aromachemicals. Kind of a ripoff (you can get them for much cheaper from fragrance supply stores) but useful for educating your nose about what the chemicals smell like.
Molecule 01
Notes: Iso E Super
This is the pure essence of cold, bright, doctor’s-office-y, “clean” fragrance. It turns subtly sweet (but still cold) as it dries.
Molecule 02
Notes: Ambroxan
This smells like bitter brown alcohol, like an impression of Scotch.
Molecule 03
Notes: vetiveryle acetate
This smells dusty, fuzzy, fluffy. It’s supposed to smell like vetiver but instead it just has a cotton-ball effect.
Molecule 04
Notes: javanol
This is my favorite. It’s a “sandalwood” molecule, and it’s swoony, warm, spicy, more overtly so than real sandalwood.
A perfume for guiding you back out of the twitch-twitch-twitch of your head, Something it can't interpret as yet another outside stimulus to twitchcategorize and spawn a mental subprocess for
