Playing the Eso event and Faras just said “Traveler, have you ever stood on the precipice of discovery? An arm’s length away from changing Tamriel’s history?”
And it’s like buddy… so many times.

ESO Spoilers
I guess the reason Laloriaran Dynar's death in ESO hits me so hard for a couple of reasons.
1. It happens after the big crisis is averted
Yes, he got hurt trying to protect the rest, but it's not a heroic sacrifice or a death that leads to the vestige destroying the planar vortex. You just saved the day, everyone should be happy but no, Laloriaran tragically has to become Molag Bal's final victim.
2. It's a slow death
Laloriaran's wounds left him alive and suffering for quite a while, especially considering he's already lying on the floor in pain when the vestige arrives. This entire long death scene is also voice-acted really well. It's not one of those Hollywood death scenes where the character says his last words rather effortlessly, no, you really hear Laloriaran struggle for every single word. And he's not spewing exposition or essential information for the hero, instead, he's just happy that he was able to help save Nirn and for me, the "character accepts his death" trope is among the hardest to stomach.
JFC. What kind of a monster throws THIS at my poor fail!Vestige in the middle of looking for clues to solve a puzzle?
I am actually in tears. Shit.
