I've been looking into two competing new therapies for advanced lung cancer for work but just now I saw that the monthly cost for one of them was $13k and I had to take a moment to breathe. $13k per month? Sure insurance will cover some of it but human life has got to matter more than this?

10: What’s the hardest thing for you to write?

WOMEN WOMEN WOMEN

tbh, i gotta stop telling myself that or im not gonna get any better, but its a serious issue of mine. All my women have strong characters in my mind, but they dont have nearly the amnt of presence the men do, and whenever I try to write them, it comes out stiff as cardboard. I think my men are also walking wrecks and my women tend to be more sure-footed-- so with less issues to dodge, it makes them less nuanced and less interesting. I can’t have everybody always on the verge of disaster, but I definitely need to work on evening that divide.

Otherwise, I’ve always felt more comfortable playing as a guy. It’s probably a result of having the male protagonist beaten over me in video games and other media. I also look more for what is interesting in media than what is validating for me, so I don’t seek out works by women often since the ones i know mainly incorporate the female experience (bc men aren’t ever gonna put anything else in the canon).
